OMG!!. It just clicked for me, and now I can't unsee it.
Lagos Life isn't really a game. The game is just how they get you through the door.
Everybody's looking at the wrong thing. They see a fun game that millions of young Nigerians are playing. What I see is something much bigger being quietly built underneath it.
Open the phone inside the game and look at it properly. There's a wallet. You can send money. There's a bank, a shop, flights, even betting. All of it sitting in one place. If you've seen how WeChat works in China, where people basically live inside one app and do everything there, that's what this is slowly becoming. The game is just the part that gets everyone to show up. Cheapest UAC ever 🤣
And here's the part I think most people are missing. The fintech companies put money into the game right from the start, and I don't think that was by accident. The hardest and most expensive thing in fintech here is getting a real person to set up a wallet and actually start using it. This game is quietly getting millions of young people comfortable with sending money, saving, banking and buying things, while they think they're just playing. So by the time a real version with real money arrives, people already know how to use it. They're already used to it.
It's not a done deal though. Playing with pretend money is easy. Moving real naira is a different thing entirely. It needs proper security, real KYC, and the CBN will be watching closely. But whoever pulls that off, and keeps the game fun while doing it, will have built something we've never really had here.
I know Opay is keeping a close eye on this.
He will share it in a party at his house soon. @otoide_a do that party oh!! Use both @LagosLifeApp and @motionapphq so that you can give your manifesto via voice. @Shalom_HeyEliy we need https://t.co/d5wdJO0t8y back there, at least for election purposes please. 🤣😂😂

I built a game we grew up playing in Nigeria.
Small pitch, tiny posts, no keeper. Just dribbling, passing, shooting and trying not to get cooked.
Plays in your browser, no download.

I entered @LagosLifeApp, and someone slapped me with 1 billion Naira. The first place I went to was Ikoyi Club, which only admits billionaires. In there, it is constant Dorime and free drinks. Are Nigerians this generous in real life? People need to make real money. LOL!
🚨 BREAKING: Lagos Life has crossed 100,000 users!
And right now, more than 11,000 people are online, playing, chatting, meeting, and making memories together.
We’re still taking this in. What started as an idea is growing into a whole city full of life. 😭
Thank you for being part of this. Lagos Life is just getting started! 🎉
My sisters and I contributed ₦6 million each to send our only brother to the UK.
Since he left, he has never sent any of us money or gifts.
Last Christmas, our eldest sister told him, “You’re settled now. It’s time to bring another sibling over.”
He replied, “I’m bringing my girlfriend first. I need to start my own family.”
My sister insisted.
He asked for her account number and sent her ₦6 million.
Then he texted:
“I’ll settle the others later.”
If you’re struggling with where or how to write your Letter of Motivation (LOM), this may help.
I usually write my LOM in 5 paragraphs. This approach worked well for me, and I’ve also used it when guiding applicants who later secured DAAD EPOS scholarships...
I stumbled on an app where you can make money, but you need to put in the work. A creator on IG was trying to gatekeep it, but the name is “Launchpoint.”
If you have time, check it out. It could be a good side hustle income.
Things I have done with AI agents in the last week.
1. Downloaded videos from social media links without using any third-party apps or sites. Savings: time and money.
2. Connected an agent to my bank account through Plaid and stopped paying for RocketMoney Premium. - Saved: $14
3. Appointments - Did meeting preparation with @bot that flagged that a person I was meeting was linked to illegal activity in the past. I didn't ask it to do it. It kept researching the meeting, flagged it an hour before, and gave me time to research, confirm it, and call it off. Savings: unquantifiable.
4. Domain sale negotiation and trademark research. @bot did research on a domain I already own, identified a potential buyer, then found his email and drafted an email. I sent it off to him after Bot flagged that their trademark had expired.
5. Intinct helped me to set a reminder to send a love note to my wife at least once a week and to book a date.
6. Investing - @bot updated my Stock Watch to warn me before scheduled company events and announcements so that I can catch shifts before they happen and not react to news after it has been announced. Opportunity - immense.
7. Setting up Hermes this weekend and will likely use it to get multiple models to work on a project.
I am also looking for every subscription or service I use that can now be replaced with agents. What have you done with AI agents in the last week?
One of the things I'm learning in marriage is this "private time" that men need.
Yesterday, my husband became cranky after work stress plus he couldn't get something done online with GTBank. I quickly packed the children inside a room and read a book together. He slept off in his alone time and woke up his normal self again.
Earlier in our marriage, I would get upset about this. Thank God for growth 🙏
I worked for a stinkingly rich boss during NYSC & learnt a few things 😂 Not crazy but helpful!
* Their work culture is CRAZY. There’s no difference between night & day. One time, he called me at 2am: “Dress up, my driver is coming to pick you. We’re going to Abuja.” 😭
* There’s no “impossible” in their dictionary. If it can work, MAKE IT WORK.
* They forget to eat, fast more than they eat, and genuinely enjoy basic food…like Agbado, banana, walnuts, crackers & co. 😂
*They are very people friendly!! They can promise you the earth 😂 But once you’re out of sight… oti lor. 😂
*And payment? 😭 If it’s coming from their personal pocket, they can genuinely forget to pay you 😒 unless they’ve put a structure in place for it.
