#LE_SSERAFIM, ILLIT, KATSEYE’s "ICONIC BY MISTAKE" spends the 3rd week at #49 on Billboard Hot 100.
— It is now LE SSERAFIM’s longest-charting song on the chart, surpassing "CRAZY" & "SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS)" (2 weeks).
BTS were named as early front-runners in the upcoming Grammy's Best Asian Pop Music category by Gold Derby.
"Swim, would not be eligible for Best Asian Pop since it's fully in English, meaning that it will likely be submitted (and nominated) in Pop Duo/Group. However, Arirang, features other worthy tracks that qualify, like the opener Body to Body and the buzzy 2.0.
There's strong likelihood that BTS will be the only nominees in the new category to get nominated elsewhere"
#LE_SSERAFIM "BOOMPALA" OFFICIAL PERFORMANCE FILM has surpassed the OFFICIAL MV as the most viewed video of the song on YouTube.
— The performance film is currently the highest-charting video by any kpop 4th gen girl group on YouTube Global Daily Top Music Videos chart.
Halsey on BTS;
"They are the hardest working people I've ever met. Despite this massive global fame, what impresses me the most is their pure, unwavering bond with each other and with their fans. They deserve every bit of it."
Billboard Brazil noted that using “Macarena” to talk about facing fears is a very unusual choice, and asked how the idea of delivering a deeper message through such a dance-heavy song came about.
SAKURA explained:
Fear is a very universal emotion that everyone experiences easily whether from the pressure to perform perfectly or from loving something so much that you’re afraid of losing it. Because it’s so relatable, the group wanted to send the message that instead of letting fear overwhelm us, we can come together, embrace it, and even celebrate it like a festival.
When asked what it’s like to create a song that can have different meanings for different generations, HUH YUNJIN replied:
“It’s something extremely special and meaningful for us. Our messages come from the heart and from our personal stories. So when someone connects with them, it warms our hearts. I think interpretation is the magic of any art… How the same lyrics can mean something completely different depending on what you’re going through. We hope LE SSERAFIM’s music can have this kind of meaning in people’s lives. There would be nothing more inspiring and rewarding for us.”
Billboard Brazil asked about incorporating the globally iconic “Macarena” choreography into “BOOMPALA” and whether it was a challenge.
HONG EUNCHAE answered:
Since “Macarena” is such a well-known song, the group felt both excitement and some pressure to deliver that same fun, universally enjoyable energy. For the “Macarena” section in “BOOMPALA”, they worked hard to add LE SSERAFIM’s own style and turn it into one of the most standout moments of the performance.
Billboard Brazil asked how LE SSERAFIM deals with their own expectations when always trying to explore new skills with each comeback, and whether they are very strict with themselves.
SAKURA answered:
“Although I’ve been in this industry for a long time, I still feel excited whenever I discover a new side of myself. Instead of pressuring myself to do everything perfectly, I try to approach each song with curiosity for example, asking myself how I should sing it. I believe this mentality actually leads to better results. For me, the best way is to enjoy whatever I’m doing.”
Billboard Brazil mentioned that Tropkillaz participated in the production of “Irony” and shared how fun it was to work with the group, including celebrating Yunjin’s birthday during the sessions. They asked about other fun moments during the creation of ‘PUREFLOW’ pt. 1.
HUH YUNJIN replied:
“Spending my birthday during the sessions with such amazing people was unforgettable. It was an immense joy! I wanted to say thank you very much to Tropkillaz for being part of this. I also met many talented people with whom I keep in touch to this day!
Another fun memory was Chuseok. Usually, at Chuseok, we eat rice dumplings, so we decided to make our own little celebration in Los Angeles. It was all very improvised. We went to a store, grabbed the last rice balls and yakgwa (traditional Korean fried sweets) that were left, and ended up celebrating together in the studio.”
YUNJIN talks about how to deal with the fear and creative doubts that arise before creating something new & if there was a particularly difficult artistic barrier to overcome to get to where they are now ❤️🩹
🐶: We definitely talk deeply about that. About where we are going, where we want to go, what felt right to us and what didn't. But I think to truly understand that, you have to challenge yourself and try different things.
With every album, LE SSERAFIM pushes the boundaries of what we can express and embody. The idea is for it to feel a little uncomfortable. For me, the artistic barrier I overcame the most was my dedication and commitment to our creative direction, both musically and narratively.
