Mohammad Shafi killed Kalyani, cut up her body and threw it in the NTTPS cooling canal about 10 days ago.

The two were in an extramarital relationship. She had given her son to him earlier and they later fell out over the child.

Police suspect he killed her after she kept pressing him to return the boy.

Her brother identified her from photos circulating on social media.

Body parts recovered from the canal were confirmed through a tattoo.
