@Vegasfan1970 Yeah, I used to go at least once a year. That changed. I used to write about things. That changed.
I'll go again some day, but I'm not in a hurry for the first time in three decades.
I miss it, but priorities. Amazing how much has changed since 2015. (And not a surprise.)
I just don't use Twitter any more, and not because they insist on calling it X.
I think I lost a bunch of followers. That's a shame.
Too many social media channels, and they're all annoying in one way or another. Or am I wrong?
I'm guessing nobody sees this!
@NeonVacation@DowntownRochMN I don't watch every video you do, but I see a mix of them amongst the channels I follow. I appreciate that you don't expect viewers to spend 45 minutes multiple times/week watching your content. There are so many videos I don't watch because creators think my time is unlimited.
@DJDanielson@DownTownPTBrown I miss Big Top. Those Tuesday dash deals were hit and miss, and I think I still have an open bottle of something weird from the Tuesday Dash days in my fridge. I have a hard time letting go.
@John_Mehaffey@casinocollctve Alamo finally ditched their lone table. Shocking I stopped in there to see it for myself a couple of years ago. I would have threw a few dollars down, but I think they wanted $15 a hand. Place was empty, I didn't get the strategy.
@bradjoiner I started going in 1997. I've made at least 50 trips to Sin City over the years. I'm not sure when the best year was, I knew so little about navigating Vegas in 1997. (The internet was in its infancy.) For me, my experience took a turn for the worse starting in 2019.
10 years ago I was eager to follow and correspond with others via Twitter. This is not the world I was expecting in 2025.
Sad fact: I have not been to Vegas since Halloween 2023, and that's not changing during this calendar year.
Last I knew, batistas still remains temporarily closed.
I'll never eat there again, so its fate doesn't really matter to me, but it's kind of a fascinating story.
@John_Mehaffey At the end of the day it's like arguing who is the greatest NBA player of all time. It's comparing apples and oranges. It's an easy talker, but Guinness has only muddied the waters of their precious record.
@John_Mehaffey This is all very odd, and I'm sure there's more to the story than I have read.
Guinness gets to make, and change, its rules, but after reading a couple of different accounts, this is all as clear as mud. And silly.
I haven't been to Vegas since Halloween 2023. While it won't be the next Lucky Dragon, you have to wonder if it will still be Fontainebleau whenever I get back to Vegas.
I don't get excited about visiting fancy new casinos where I'm never going to gamble, but next time I'm in Vegas, I feel like I'd better make a cameo at Fontainebleau, before it becomes the next Lucky Dragon.
(I need a time machine so I can visit Key Largo.)
Just got confirmation that my longtime friend
COOK E JARR passed away.
An institution in Vegas.
Many great memories of his shows when I first moved to Vegas.
He loved talking sports.
Rest Easy my friend!
It's easy to stop writing blogs about Vegas in a world that covets YouTube videos showing casino hotel bathrooms. And yet here I am, given a platform for my poorly constructed opinions about authenticity in the music world via Vegas 411.
