@ZBCNewsonline There’s no road there!!! Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 needs an infrastructure financing paradigm shift. You can Finance road maintenance, rehabilitation and expansion of recurrent expenditure. It’s not sustainable and plainly impossible. @ZimTreasury needs to create vibrant infrastructure bonds

@MethembeThomas We had seen the demise of Nationalist Economies before our independence. We should have anticipated this with better planning as we waged the war. We inherited a strong industrial & economic base. With hindsight we could have done extremely better. War Veterans were not demanding
@MethembeThomas For our sins we got political independence & never thought through some policies & just spent as if money will never run dry. A bit of fiscal prudence would have allowed us to transition in a balanced way whilst continuing to industrialize & bring more people into the economy
@MethembeThomas The government in turn did not do a comprehensive cost benefit analysis of ESAP & went on to dismantle the whole architecture of Economic Planning designed out of surviving economic sanctions & working with friendly countries to create a narrow exposure externally.
