It's a squad vs squad thing that gives Conclave standing win or lose, and occasionally there are double standing bonuses on it.

Not to mention that knowing about sex before having it keeps people safer. Ignorance doesn't "save" kids from having sex, all it does is prevent them from eventually having safe sex.
