Versailles adds another chapter to its treaty legacy as President Trump signed the Iran "peace deal" at the Palace of Versailles in Paris, where many historic treaties have been signed, including the 1919 Treaty of Versailles ending WWI.

US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have reportedly signed a "peace deal" to end the war between the two countries.
Negotiating teams are expected in Geneva to further the agreement on Friday.
Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna has the details.
Around 3.7 billion years ago (during the Noachian period), Mars was far more Earth-like: thicker atmosphere, warmer climate, rivers carving valleys, lakes filling craters, and possibly even a northern ocean.
Here are some artistic impressions of what that wet ancient Mars might have looked like
Real geological evidence includes:Extensive river valley networks and deltas (like the one in Jezero Crater where Perseverance is exploring).
Clay minerals and other water-altered rocks detected by orbiters and rovers.
Ancient lakebed sediments and outflow channels from massive floods.
What happened to all that water?Mars lost its global magnetic field early on, leaving its atmosphere vulnerable. Solar wind stripped much of it away over hundreds of millions of years. The planet cooled, water froze or sublimated, and most of what remains is locked in polar ice caps, subsurface ice, or deep underground reservoirs.
Did life ever exist on Mars? This is the big question! No conclusive proof yet, but the case for past habitability is strong. Ancient Mars had liquid water, chemical energy sources, and organic molecules — the basic ingredients for life as we know it.Exciting recent development: In 2025, NASA’s Perseverance rover found a rock (Cheyava Falls) in Jezero Crater containing potential biosignatures — features that could be consistent with ancient microbial life. It’s the strongest candidate so far, but scientists emphasize it’s not definitive. We’ll need to bring samples back to Earth for detailed lab analysis to confirm.
My take: It’s very plausible that microbial life arose on early Mars. The planet had a long head start on Earth in some ways. Even if life never started or died out, finding out either way would be one of the greatest discoveries in history. Future missions (sample return, human exploration) will get us closer to the answer. What about you — optimistic that we’ll find evidence of ancient Martian microbes, or do you think it stayed sterile?
Formed in 1975, the G7 brings together seven major economies to tackle global issues.
Leaders meet annually, with recent agendas including the Strait of Hormuz, the war in Ukraine, and outreach to partners like Kenya.
Al Jazeera’s Perry Wilton explains.
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said his country’s relationship with the US is “solid and eternal” after he spoke with President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France https://t.co/TZOySBp9Ey
NEW | The United States and Iran signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on June 17. Iran is claiming that the final MoU text satisfies some of its key war aims related to Lebanon and the Strait of Hormuz.
The final MoU is basically unchanged from the version provided to Bloomberg on June 16, except for text changes in clauses one and five that Iran reportedly requested.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS: The U.S. and Iran have remotely signed their memorandum of understanding to end the war and open the Strait of Hormuz, and the agreement is now in effect, according to Axios.
AXIOS: President Trump himself signed it.
The signing was supposed to happen in Switzerland on Friday, but there had been discussions about signing and implementing it earlier.
Discussions to accelerate the timetable aimed to open the strait sooner than Friday, as both parties agreed on that issue.
Iran's foreign ministry said the sides agreed that both presidents should sign the MOU electronically.
The meeting between the U.S. and Iran headed by Vice President Vance and Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf is still expected to take place as planned on Friday in Switzerland.

America's Mayor Live 🇺🇸
Deliver the Truth Whatever the Cost:
Almost a decade ago, I stood at the White House and told the truth about Iran.
Iran was then testing the new Trump administration.
Today, my message remains unchanged. If America is to strike back, it must strike back with all forms of its strength (diplomatic, information, military and economic).
Never apologize for American power.
Never negotiate from weakness.
If we act, America must act with overwhelming force using all forms of its power.
That is not negotiable.
Iran will never comply with any deal. They will rebuild. The Iranian people will suffer (even more). Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, et al., will benefit. The regime will grow stronger and they will eventually possess nuclear weapons.
I remain anti-stupid war.
However, when American prestige is significantly on the line (which it is now) and when you’re having to over-explain something (which it appears we are doing), that something is probably not a good thing.
Speaking for myself as an American who has put his life on the line (time and again), this message is to the rest of the world and all the haters of our freedoms here at home (you know who you are); be careful what your next steps are because the American people deeply and sincerely love and cherish freedom and we are not about to willy-nilly roll over for anyone or any nation.
Take that to the bank.
