So let me get this straight…
Doug Ford can take a 102-day summer break with full pay, taxpayer-funded pensions, benefits, travel budgets, and perks while classrooms are overcrowded, hospitals are understaffed, ERs are closing, and families are struggling to survive?
Teachers are being told there’s “not enough money” for smaller class sizes, educational assistants, special education supports, or properly funded public schools.
Healthcare workers are burning out. Parents can’t find family doctors. Students are falling through the cracks. But Queen’s Park gets a 3+ month vacation?
How is this acceptable?
And before anyone says politicians still “work behind the scenes,” most Ontarians don’t get 102 days off with six-figure salaries and guaranteed pensions while the systems WE pay for collapse around us.
Public education and healthcare are not luxuries. They are the backbone of a functioning society.
Maybe if politicians had to live in overcrowded classrooms, wait 14 hours in ERs, or watch children lose supports because there aren’t enough EAs, they’d stop treating public services like a budget line to cut while protecting their own comfort.
Ontario deserves better than a government that always seems to find money for itself while telling everyone else to lower their expectations.
Moments ago: NDP leader Marit Stiles demands an apology from Premier Doug Ford for “betraying the people of Ontario” during this 29-day session.
“He spent their money on a luxury private jet… sold out the Toronto waterfront… & changed laws to hide his cell phone records.”
The Ford government confirmed we won’t be back at Queen’s Park for 102 days.
While I’m excited to spend the summer in Nepean meeting with residents, businesses, and community groups, Ontarians deserve a government that’s willing to show up and do its job.
After calling a snap election to “Protect Ontario,” it’s hard to understand why this government is taking 5 months off while families continue to struggle with the cost of living, health care, and housing. #onpoli
Ontarians are pretty “ticked off” too, @fordnation. You’ve wasted our money for 8 long years. This isn’t a one off.
- $100 billion tunnel
- $500M parking lot next to a private spa
- $1 billion to get booze into corner stores a year early
- 100s of millions on propaganda ads
Just to name a few… #onpoli
Hey @fordnation , it's far cheaper and more humane to build supportive housing instead of letting people suffer on the streets.
How about we start there instead.
The reason our Hospitals are in crisis is UNDERFUNDING!
The reason our Healthcare is in crisis is UNDERFUNDING!
The reason our Schools are in crisis is UNDERFUNDING!
The reason our Education is in crisis is UNDERFUNDING!
We all knew it would happen!
@fordnation has shut down FOIs across government.
The Greenbelt, Skills Development, the Air Rights Scandal , his luxury private jet. The list goes on…
He’s keeping it all behind closed doors.
Just too many scandals to keep track of.
I'm a regular citizen, an Ontario voter and taxpayer, and I care deeply about our right to public oversight! Democracy can't exist without it!!! Ford is OUR employee. He and all his MPPs all work for US!!!
Give us back our FOI @fordnation!!!
We can’t keep giving hospitals funding increases that don’t even keep up with inflation and pretend it’s enough to fix the crisis.
If we actually want to relieve pressure on hospitals, we need to address the root causes of why people end up there in the first place. That means investing in access to primary care, prevention, mental health supports, and community health services - not just forcing hospitals to do more with less. #onpoli

The corruption of Doug Ford, a timeline:
1. Negligence during covid which caused many seniors to die due to inadequate care.
2. Billions of $ missing of covid relief funds.
3. Greenbelt scandal
4. Closing the Science Ctr by lying about the safety of it's structure.
5. Skills development fund. $Millions meant for job training being given to his buddies, like strip club owners.
6. Secret cell phone records and his refusal by the courts to have access to them.
7. Changing Freedom of Information laws to exempt him and his cabinet from any accountability.
8. Purchase of Private jet with zero public consultations.
My fellow Ontarians, can I please count on you to show up for the next election and vote this corrupt Premier out?
Ontario hospitals are short $3.2 billion. They're in deficit and borrowing from banks. The Ontario Hospital Association says it's dire. I see so many ER hallway patients and think about the billions wasted, and I get frustrated. By @a_longhurst

Over 70% of hospitals are forecasting a deficit.
When reporters filed an FOI request with @SylviaJonesMPP to learn more, her Ministry missed the deadline by TWO months.
Then, after the FOI rules changed, they claimed they could no longer release the records.
How convenient.
When records were about to come out, Doug Ford changed the law to bury them. When court cases started heating up, he changed the law to nullify them.
Is this Queen's Park or the Kremlin? Why does this Premier think he's above the law?
Ford fails again.
Auditor General reports Ford's failure to enforce child and spousal support payments has shorted Ontario families $2.1 billion. At this while struggling parents and their children are lined up at food banks.

Imagine that. Turns out you can’t lawfully hold a referendum on whether to take something that isn’t yours: like land covered by treaties, or the sovereign territory of Canada.
