@Roadman_Podcast The athlete changed. I don’t blame the race organisers but now the young bucks are far different to what we were !! We grew up wanting to race and race at the highest level possible .. now there is alot of younger folk box ticking. They actually don’t know what that want.
@ciarancannon@CorkCyclingCrew@hynessl 7,000 motorists caught speeding last weekend , 500 caught on a mobile and 250 intoxicated. Wouldn’t worry about cars parking on double yellow lines.
@Roadman_Podcast Don’t ride on certain road. Check times before I ride on others and I live in pretty much a small place. Nothing to do with road infrastructure, it’s literally speeding vehicles and poor driving decisions. You just don’t need the 20% of bad drivers to pass you at the same time.
@gerardcam At most 20% of clubs are only interested in running things. The other 80% don’t have the ability, knowledge, support, help or most probably interest. They may turn to the governing body, then they will give up. It’s the modern challenge alright.
‘…a common go-to suggestion for bicycle haters has raised its head — that bicycles should be registered like cars.
It’s often suggested online, even when articles are posted that have nothing to do with law-breaking’

@ciarancannon A car driver never remembers all the cars who cut them off on a roundabout, run a red light or pull left without indication and we see it daily, everyone does but it amazes me how they never forget a poor ol cyclist who does the same. The ideology is called Car Supremacy.
@SafeCyclingEire No one listens to the PR Campaigns. The RSA have said also for over 2 years now that they need enforcement, proper enforcement and no one listens to them either. It seems to be called a vote loser in politics for a party, to get stuck in and really make a difference.
One in three fatal crashes is linked to speeding.
Yet speed limit reforms have been shelved.
🚦 Road safety is not urban vs rural, or green vs anti-green. It’s a public good.

Well done Italy 🇮🇹 👏
Question for Ireland though is why are our policy makers so frozen in fear to do something equally meaningful?
Irish drivers seem to require a special type of mollycoddling for some reason @RSAIreland
@gerardcam Bring it to Donegal. Route in Glengesh and Mamore Days. Sort the men out from the boys and make them start training earlier. It will force them to go racing too from March and prepare properly.
The state of driving in ireland can be witnessed at any pedestrian crossing by everyone … will you chance it if you want to cross or do you wait for the vehicle to stop !!! It’s a 50/50 at this stage.
