The idols, which weighed 42.8 kg before being sent to Chennai artisans, returned 4.54 kg lighter, with gold missing from the Dwarapalaka idols. The court called it a serious lapse and sought a report in 3 weeks.

Lesson: Temple nationalisation breeds corruption. Hindus must unite for freeing temples from state control – else faith & heritage will keep getting looted.
