And here's what history keeps trying to teach you: when a government tests how far it can push one marginalized group, it's never really about just that group. It's about seeing what the rest of us will tolerate.
What we'll normalize.
What we'll let slide.
Today it's trans Kansans. Tomorrow it's whoever else doesn't fit the mold of the current administration.
Either we all have the right to exist in public life, or none of us do.
