The Filipinas are SEA Games Champions! From belief to bravery, from grit to glory, this team finished the job and rewrote the story on the regional stage.
LABAN, FILIPINAS. 🏆🥇
Yes, there’s definitely a pay disparity, but that’s only part of a bigger issue. For context, the WL under the Gutierrez admin has been handled through the NCRFA and GRID, while the PFL is now operated by Liga Group. Before we even get into pay and investment discussions, the priority has to be building a properly structured and stable league setup for women’s football.
Because even if the costs are lower in the women’s game, investment doesn’t automatically follow. IMO You still need a consistent league, strong organisation, and a clear system that clubs and sponsors can trust long-term. That foundation is what makes everything else, including pay, actually sustainable.
Again, NSAs typically do not charge fees for NATIONAL ID camps. In this case, the requirement is stated plainly in the registration form linked in the announcement itself: “Cash payment of $200 is required to attend the camp and must be brought on the first day of camp.”
I've said this many times: I don't think this is right. ID camps should be about identifying the best talent available, not about who can afford to pay for an opportunity to be seen. A significant fee creates a barrier that can shut out players with the ability to represent their country, simply cuz they lack the financial means to attend. National team pathways should be as accessible as possible.
There is a $200 fee to be part of talent ID in the US for the boys. I'm not quite sure if this is a talent ID or profit-oriented camp.
Lastly, we don’t need any ID camps. for every 100 participants we might selected 2-5 players. They should have Scouting dept to scout players.
This also disproportionately affects local talent. Many locally based players are already making significant sacrifices to stay in the game. They often juggle studies, work, and training expenses with far fewer resources and support systems available to them.
The risk is that the player pool becomes skewed toward those who can afford the opportunity rather than those who have earned it on merit. Some of the country's best prospects may never even get in front of the coaches because the cost of being evaluated is too high.
If the objective of an ID camp is to identify the strongest possible national team, then the process should be designed to remove barriers to participation and not create new ones.
Jarvey Gayoso: “I’m happy that I was blessed with the goal and the opportunity to contribute.” The forward was pleased to make an impact and is already looking ahead to the next challenge against Myanmar, a fellow group-stage opponent in the Hyundai Cup.
‘I AM STILL SENATE PRESIDENT’
Alan Peter Cayetano maintains that he’s still the Senate President as he reads the Senate rules at the Senate on Thursday.

“I’M HAPPY WITH WHAT I SAW…”
@pmnft_official Head Coach Carles Cuadrat expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, saying the match gave him the opportunity to assess several new players and see how they fit into the squad as preparations continue for the Hyundai Cup.
Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the players of Japan’s Women’s National Team formed a special honor guard for the men’s national team. Let’s go, Nippon!
We are officially in World Cup month. Please leave your xG charts, pressing percentages, and defensive metrics in the club season. International tournament football is strictly decided by pure vibes, individual brilliance, tactical survival, and a random goalkeeper turning into prime Lev Yashin for two weeks. Enjoy the entertainment and put the spreadsheets away.
Senate Starting XI! Just saw this post by Kick n Run PH. Your thoughts? Let’s breakdown
Strong Minority United (Black Kit)
Formation: 4-3-3
GK: Lapid
Doesn’t always see much action but somehow ends up making crucial saves when things get chaotic.
E. Tulfo – Gatchalian – Ejercito – R. Tulfo Physical backline. Not afraid to put in a hard tackle during hearings. The Tulfo brothers are the overlapping fullbacks, solid resbak to the alamat that is Leon Guerrero.
Pangilinan – Zubiri – Aquino
The possession merchants. Zubiri sits deepest as the veteran pivot trying to keep the game flowing. Aquino and Pangilinan prefer build-up play and long-term projects rather than route-one football
Hontiveros – Sotto – Lacson
Hontiveros presses high like a relentless winger who never gives defenders a second on the ball. Sotto is the classic target man, experienced, organized, and directing traffic. Lacson plays like a veteran inverted winger who spends half the match studying the opposition’s financial fair play records.
Tactical Identity: High press. Possession-based with frequent references to the rulebook. Strong on accountability and defensive structure.
