Isolation can be incredibly frustrating. But it does not have to be. People ask how did I manage 312 days alone at sea, but the answer is that I was constantly busy. I had a boat to sail, navigate (before satellites), maintain, steer, plus feed myself. #StayHomeSaveLives

Rounded Fastnet Rock this morn and have been smashing upwind since. struggling to keep up with the guys around me. Extremely frustrarting bleeding miles like this.
But this is the most realistic training we've had this yr for the Rhum in Nov.

Into day 2 and as expected it’s been pretty tricky. The wind’s very unstable so there’s always something to do. There’s a big split in the fleet so it's difficult to be sure how we’ll be doing when we converge. Apart from not a lot of sleep all is good.

Drifty start to the La Drheam-Cup Destination Cotentin. I had a false start and had to return the line again. Fortunately it got better and I leaft Quiberon bay in the lead. Now got 2 days to go to the next mark- Fastnet Rock. Mostly upwind. @DrheamCup
