One hour ago, Republicans Thomas Massie, Warren Davidson, Tom Barrett, and Brian Fitzpatrick BROKE from Trump and voted with Dems. And lo and behold, the House passed a War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump’s war of choice in Iran by a vote of 215-208.
This is a sad day for news. Scott Pelly leaving 60 Minutes is a milestone in media sell out to trump and his narcissistic and sociopathic ego.
Scott Pelley is one of the most respected journalists on earth. He is recognized as a fair minded, yet intensely honest reporter. Trump could not stand that and the Ellisons chose politics and money over truth. Edward R. Murrow is rolling in his grave, as are all the other journalists over the years at 60 minutes
This just proves that our institutions of truth and accountability no longer stand a chance in the fight against corporate greed. The Ellisons are rich beyond measure. What they lack is integrity.
Someday Trump and his corrupt administration will be gone. So will the pirates of commerce like the Ellisons. Truth is all we have at the end of the day. The new owners of CBS want to take that from us so they can please Trump in their endless quest of fealty to a false king.
Sadly, I will no longer watch as 60 minutes dies. I sincerely hope others will choose the same path because the only power we possess is our viewership.
A lot of people have complained about the suppression algorithm on this site, so I did an experiment.
Same content, 2 diff platforms:
X versus Bluesky.
Nothing political, nothing negative, just a post about going outside and touching grass.
After an hour:
204 likes on Twitter
573 likes on Bluesky
I have less than half as many followers on Bluesky than on X.
I've been on this app for way longer than monetization was a thing. We didn't care about views, we cared about engagement.
I'm seeing people on BOTH SIDES of the political spectrum unhappy with how their content is not being shown to the audiences that we spent YEARS curating.
Whoever is making the decisions to restrict the number of posts people can do before getting deboosted and other restrictions, it's a mistake
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: just because I'm pointing out shit that ain't working right doesn't mean I'm leaving, because I'm not.
But if you're in a restaurant, and the customer complains there's a fly in their soup, don't blame them.
Blame whoever is fucking up the soup, and fix it.
Trump has been having a hypomanic episode the past 24 hours. Post after post after post. All his trademark pathologies: Narcissism. Sociopathy. Paranoia. Sadism. All his trademark themes: Malice. Grievance. Division. Entitlement.
His gut is a simmering stew of agitation, rage, and desperation. His disordered brain is filled with paranoid fantasies of revenge alongside fantastical visions of regaining his grandiosity.
He hates being told his name needs to come off a building. He hates that musical artists are canceling from his show. He hates being trapped and stuck in Iran. He hates that Epstein won't go away. And he especially hates his own mortality.
Neither you nor I can EVER feel the kind of frenzied fear and fanaticism that Trump feels now. This is a man who knows he's in his final chapter.
He's confounded that he, all that he is, all that he ever said he was, his lifetime of secrets and lies and false constructs - is vulnerable to exposure.
How can he possibly sleep?
This is a malignant narcissist in decline. They always get worse, it's always messy, and they never want to go down alone.
“AND YOU STILL DARE TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH…”
Sasha Legerman: This is too accurate not to share.
This Australian’s response to Trump’s rant that “NATO does nothing for America” is absolutely devastating:
“Mate. You run a country where 600,000 homeless people will sleep on the streets tonight.
A country where 40% of adults can’t cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money.
A country where insulin costs more than a car payment, and people ration it just to stay alive.
A country where medical debt is the number one cause of bankruptcy.
A country where women die in hospital parking lots because doctors are too afraid of abortion laws to treat miscarriages.
You imprison more of your own citizens than any country on Earth.
More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea.
In the land of the free, 2 million people sit in cages, and a quarter of them haven’t even been convicted of anything.
They’re simply too poor to afford bail.
Your life expectancy is declining. You’re the only developed nation where that’s happening.
Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba’s.
Your children practice active shooter drills between math and English classes while you sell defense stocks to your friends.
Your minimum wage hasn’t changed in 15 years.
Your teachers work two jobs, your veterans sleep under bridges, and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that never attacked you.
And now a convicted criminal — found liable for sexual abuse, defending a pedophile, sleeping with a porn star, and running the biggest dumpster-fire campaign since the Taliban — is thanking you for yet another disaster.
And you call Greenland badly governed?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world.
Nobody there goes bankrupt because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because insurance refused treatment.
‘NATO wasn’t there when we needed them.’
When exactly was that, champ?
September 11?
Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU.
Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU.
Australia wasn’t even in NATO, and we still showed up. For twenty years.
And then you left at 2 a.m. without telling anyone and left everybody else to clean up the mess.
You don’t care that a great nation is being terrorized by your friend, and you haven’t shown it a single ounce of sympathy.
So maybe before calling other countries badly governed, take a look at your own backyard, you aluminum siding salesman with a spray tan.
The only thing badly managed in this picture is your damn mouth.
And you still dare to lecture the rest of the world?”
Trump used to be a Democrat who contributed to the campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Harry Reed. Now he calls himself a Republican, but he’s actually a party of one: Donald Trump.
Trump is increasingly uneven as he flails in a desperate effort to force-feed a false narrative that preserves his grandiosity.
But in fairness to him, he's a malignant narcissist, with deep underlying insecurity, progressive cognitive decline, insomnia, a miniscule vocabulary, underwater polling numbers, an inability to pivot, precious little patience, and a simplistic sensibility requiring instant gratification.
He is also paranoid, with nobody he can fully trust, and left to his own discernment, keeps shooting himself in the foot, as he refuses to admit imperfection or fault.
He is also so desperate to grift, at a level so heightened, it's pissing off loyalists and GOP Senators.
And - all the while - he is engaged in frantic efforts to distract from and thus protect his lifetime of secrets and lies, especially those secrets and lies that, if exposed, would forever link him to treasonous acts and/or sordid scandals that would destroy his legacy and what's left of his malicious, moronic, and miserable life.
So, he's understandably upset.
Here's the problem: When Pakistan said they expected a response from Iran on Thursday, and Trump and Rubio said they expected a response from Iran on Friday, Iran knew then and there they'd take longer to respond. They sent their response to Pakistan today; we don't yet know the substance. But THEY understand negotiation.
And the problem is, Trump doesn't. We know that both sides would like to end the conflict, but Iran is intentionally frustrating Trump, even mocking him, because they understand strategy and posture better than him, and because they can. They understand that Trump's bloviations and hyperbole are empty. They understand Trump is addicted to professing his own grandiosity and they understand his transparent and desperate need to reverse the political decline of his Made for TV presidency.
Therefore, the one really major card that Iran holds is NOT the Strait of Hormuz and it's NOT the enriched uranium. It's that they know Trump, desperate for an exit, is trapped by his own uncontrollable and cartoonish ego, and they will milk it for what they can.
I feel inappropriate to attempt to educate trump on a subject near and dear to his heart (if he actually had one). The subject is war. It seems that yesterday the Iranians were shooting at us but trump says the ”cease fire” holds. We know trump has trouble with words, math, science, geography and literally everything else, so we will explain to Donny “eight wars” cease means to quit, stop, or hold in abeyance. Nowhere in the annals of wartime cease fires does the enemy get to keep shooting and not have the cease fire end. This only happens when a chicken shit, coward president wants so badly to end an idiotic war that he has no problem with people shooting at our troops. So I guess we will have to call this an “almost cease fire”
Tomorrow will address math to help Donny Eight Wars
Does anyone else see the absolute futility in trying to get an 80 year old, narcissistic, sociopathic, habitual lying, con artist, arrogant, racist, misogynistic, dishonest, spoiled, serial sexual assaulting, rapist, pedophile to change his ways?
Oh yeah you need to throw in that he is the most ignorant person to ever walk into the Oval Office.
WATCHING TRUMP'S COLLAPSE ON THE WORLD STAGE
If he weren't such an ass, witnessing his decline would actually be kind of sad.
The numbers tell the story:
📉 22% approval on handling living costs
📉 62% overall disapproval .
📉 Majorities in 19 of 24 countries have NO confidence in his leadership .
📉 U.S. favorability dropped 20+ points in Mexico, Sweden, Poland, and Canada.
Our allies have had ENOUGH:
🇪🇸 Spain refused to let U.S. forces use their bases for the Iran war—even after Trump threatened to "cut off all relations" .
🇬🇧🇫🇷🇩🇪 Britain, France, and Germany openly called the Iran war "poorly conceived" and refused to participate.
🇩🇰 Denmark's Foreign Minister: "Is the world a better place than yesterday? Undoubtedly. Than 40 days ago? More than doubtful"
The saddest part? He genuinely doesn't understand what's happening. He rages that allies aren't "pitching in" while they're actively building alternatives to American leadership because he's proven so unreliable.
Europe tried to work with him on Ukraine. Then came Iran—and they chose open criticism instead.
This is what happens when you lead with threats and impulse instead of strategy and partnership. The world doesn't fear you. They just work around you.
If Trump had even a shred of self-awareness, this would be tragic. But after decades of cruelty, dishonesty, and zero accountability?
It's just exhausting.
