I just saw why China is still 20 years ahead in manufacturing.
Today, I walked through Midea's manufacturing campus in China.
And no video or photo can prepare you for what you see in person.
Factory after factory.
Fully automated production lines.
Entire buildings dedicated to R&D.
Showrooms bigger than many manufacturing plants.
The scale is almost impossible to comprehend.
Midea manufactures millions of home appliances every year and supplies products to some of the world's biggest brands.
I wasn't there as a tourist.
I was there to explore how some of their products can be Indianised for our market.
Interestingly, Midea is also expanding aggressively into India and looking for the right manufacturing and business partners.
Walking through a facility like this doesn't make me think India can't compete.
It reminds me how much capability we still need to build.
The good news?
India doesn't have to copy China.
But we do have to match its obsession with manufacturing excellence, engineering and scale.
The opportunity is massive.
Now it's our turn to build.
