Providing community based play opportunities for children, young people and their families: free to use, free to choose, free to come and go as you please
We are fundraising to rebuild our community adventure playground. For over 40 years we have been a safe space of connection and support for thousands of children and their families. Your support will help us to be here for the next 40 years and beyond. https://t.co/Xmke7Q7Fwr

Alongside our friends @TBCGloucester we enjoyed a double dose of creativity and food with community members of all ages. It's always amazing to see how differently people use the same resources to create something unique.
Last week marked the end of one era but the start of another ! Our very old, unused, 'play hut' building was demolished as part of our exciting plans for a new playground. Huge thanks to Beard and Tandy for making this happen for free - we are very grateful.
Today we held our first 'Sensory Seekers' play session - a safe space for exploration, creativity and curiosity ! It was a fantastic session with lots to see, hear, taste, touch and smell...
We had a fantastic evening of creativity and made these wonderful flower pots. Great to see everyone sharing ideas, helping each other and admiring the finished creations. @TBCGloucester
Despite the crazy weather, we have had a brilliant week of community play, including a Bright Night's event where our play space was illuminated, and we gathered around fire pits...
It was great to be part of the Word Walk organised by GASP at the weekend. A piece of art work has been installed at the Venture featuring an audio link where you can listen to members of the local community talk about what they love about the Venture.
Today we had the huge task of removing over 5 years worth of growth of bushes and brambles to allow us to prepare to demolish our old building. Thanks to 1st Call for the free digger they supplied and to local Councillors Brendon O'Donnell and Alistair Chambers for their help !
We've had a great half term of play ! we've toasted marshmallows, made bird feeders, enjoyed the mud slides and puddles that the rain bought, explored music making with @TheMusicWorksGL, played lots of football and finished the week with roller skating ! Phew what a week !
Today we visited the Welcome Table Cafe in Matson to deliver a pop up sensory play session. Those that joined us had a great time and we're looking forward to delivering more over the next few months.
Our first family play session of 2024 involved archery, marshmallow toasting, tile painting and making bird feeders. Lunch was served by the Eat Well Wagon and even the sun made a short appearance.
We had a wonderful morning of Christmas Creativity with our friends @TBCGloucester. Lots of families joined us for a few hours of glittery fun ! It certainly put us in the festive spirit!
It's wonderful to see the positive impact that the HAF programme has, not just on the hundreds of families that take part in HAF activities but also on the many organisations that we work with to deliver the HAF programme in Gloucester City. Take a look:

We would like to give a special shout out to Guy from @GlosRCC for spending his Employer Supported Volunteering Day making this amazing bespoke dressing up storage unit for us. Dressing up is one of the Ventures' favourite activities, and this will be well used ! thank you Guy
We are super proud to have won the 'Parent's Award' for Gloucester City at last week's Gloucestershire HAF awards presentation @KingsSchoolGlos. This award recognises those who work hard to provide fun & enriching activities and have a strong commitment to communities. #HAF2023
Yesterday we celebrated our 40th Birthday with a huge community party. Hundreds of people joined us for a free day of fun and food !
Our community has many strengths - but yesterday showed us that community spirit and passion is right at the top of the list !
