Flexible adaptive reuse ordinances, the sort that leave room for context and nuance, are vital to neighborhood redevelopment. We’ve found the existing building code a useful tool as well.
Adaptive reuse properties make for one-of-a-kind hospitality experiences. Places that neighbors and visitors alike can appreciate. That’s the sort of thinking behind our #ArriveHotel project.
One of the coolest things @kimpton does is "adaptive reuse" of historic buildings. We've designed beautiful hotels in bldgs that used to be YMCA's, General Post Offices and even railroad headquarters. "The bones are good." :) Check them out on our blog. https://t.co/qjMloiUkv1

Venue Principal Lorenzo Perez tackling the topic of preservation through #adaptivereuse at @greenlivingaz’s #EarthDay event in #DTPHX. No better day to discuss the importance of recycling buildings and celebrating history & culture through placemaking!
Our @VenueProjects team is currently adapting an iconic building that typifies Phx’s 4x decade. The more I work on this project, the more I’m intruiged by all that it represents. Finished in 1958, the 444 building was “the first structure on Camelback of more than two stories.”
At 89 years young, @thevanburenphx in #dtphx recently landed on the National Register of Historic Places. 🎉 Amazing example of adaptive reuse. https://t.co/5fS358Ul6E
“Light rail shows how #Phoenix, a young city, has matured and evolved,” said Lorenzo Perez. Since opening 10 years ago, it has spurred $11 billion in development along the line.
