This is cool - (kind of) shared billing with the mighty @PamAyres - one of my poetic heroes & an inspirational poet for so many lovers of wit, rhyme & rhythm. I suspect her book might sell a few more copies than mine!
@peterjukes@Simon_Nixon@BylineTimes We can all ignore this stuff, it’s the British way. But when corruption stares you in the face and has been so endemic for so many years in the acquisitive, naive-but-not-really naive inner circles of our government & legal establishment surely it’s time to call a halt.
@boys_nicholas@Telegraph@lfg_uk Rochdale Town Hall (pictured during restoration) is astonishing, inside and out - incredible level of detail. Rylands Library in Manchester is another favourite & my adopted city of Chester has a beautiful Town Hall, which would not look too out of place in Florence.
@AdamDandy@chestertweetsuk Three more from me…
- The Minerva shrine in Handbridge
- Walking down cobbled King street from Northgate in early evening sun after a spring rain shower
- Stepping off the walls and into the magical ‘books on the walls’ on a sunny morning
@carolecadwalla This is why, 44 years ago, I completed my Law degree and decided I could never work in such an archaic and absurd branch of human activity/regulation. It’s just bonkers. Over centuries of precedent-based nonsense overseen by corrupt, self serving peope we’re now here - Cheers!
@FreddySky I was wondering how bad she was and this is not at all surprising. But, in a world where truth has no meaning she is also dangerous - that it was actually possible for her to became our Prime Minister demonstrates the fragility of our democracy. She’s Lord Haw-Haw for this age.
@GroomB@WaterstonesAlty If you’re ever over in “#Chester , Books on the Walls is a brilliant little independent bookshop, record shop & cafe whose owner hosts readings for NW authors, most Saturday afternoons - I couldn’t recommended it more highly!
@mikegarry Nantwich was brilliant last night, I smiled & laughed (a lot!) - but with a lad who is currently travelling between Tierra Del Fuego and Alaska with three mates in two tuk tuks, “Son” did me no good at all!
