Martinez was linked to the murd-r through surveillance video and audio, and his DNA was found at the crime scene

Despite being detained and questioned, Martinez was released for six months

The school wasn’t told about Martinez’s suspect status because, under Maryland law, he could attend Edgewood High School since he hadn’t been charged with murd-r yet

Martinez was finally arrested in January, 2023, after DNA results came back

He pleaded guilty to m-rder and was sentenced to 70 years in prison back in August
