This is what the average family in San Francisco was meant to look like 35 years ago.
This was America from the 1990s and before.
We were never a melting pot.
@TallRomanStatue The smartphone is perhaps the worst thing to happen to humanity. Or, one of them at least. Since their introduction, everyone under a certain age walks around like puppets on a string, holding their phones in front of their faces, fixated and shut off from the world around them.
@katzsvee So many up to no good characters like this guy have made me feel shame and embarrassment every time I've had to go to Asia over this last decade. It makes me no longer want to travel.
But, positivity about what? Positivity about actively trying to replace and make obsolete any and every human function? These people are sick and it's an entire generation of them at this point. They're entirely globohomo too, so some jerkoff in Mumbai thinks he's San Franciscan.
These people love running around, getting their Blue Bottle (a coffee place I went to over ten years ago there, but now is the hipster techy thing i guess), like chickens with their heads cut off, with huge fake smiles on their faces in order to fit into their cult of positivity.
@doomernat22 I just imagine how if you look at this guy wrong one time, you've then got the worst, most spiteful, psychotic neighbor for the rest of your life, or until you move.
Even darker is that they have no grand vision, no utopian outlook. Rather, they just want to pry open Pandora's Box to see the world burn. That is the sad truth festering at the core of most tech-enthusiasts.
What this guy is doing is not showing you a better way of living; he's actually passively bragging about how you will lose your right to drive and being smug about it while sipping coffee with his feet up. He's pissing on you.
That's how these villains think. They just want to turn your life upside-down at breakneck speed for the hell of it. To them, a norm, or way of being, is only a thing to be smashed into pieces for the LOLs. What is sacred to you means less than nothing to them.
@alexisjarre0 It's disgusting/sad that big tech moved into and appropriated SF in the last decade or so. The city deserves earnest Americans and not tech-obsessed freaks. This post made my stomach turn.
@kangminlee Anime for non-Japanese audiences died stillborn in its womb shortly after the turn of the millennium. The original stuff from the 80s/90s is all we really have from it.
