Our Govt paid £2.6bn for 5 migrant ships over 2 years
And yet…
The general cost to charter the most luxurious Royal Caribbean cruise ship for 2 years
Inc fuel, food, staff, etc
For 5614 people (double our migrant boats’ capacity)
Is $832m
Or £643m.
Monday was another damning day for the government at the Covid Inquiry.
It is becoming clearer what the recommendations from the Inquiry are likely to be…

Read this thread and weep (then get angry) at the utter folly of Brexit seen through the eyes of a family firm being ruined by its red tape consequences Remember - that was the stuff Brexit was going to get rid of. Never forget. Never forgive the liars who created this self-harm
Harriet Harman appears teary-eyed as Tory MP @Laura__Farris pays tribute to her work and reminds the Commons she took up the role of privileges committee chair not long after her husband died.
It's
6yrs since we started seeing mass proliferation of scam ads
5yrs since I sued Facebook.
4yrs since they settled (for £3m to charity).
4yrs since the online harms white paper (still not law)
18mth since they agreed to inc scams in it.
1 day since first deep fake scam ad I've seen
Yet we've still
NO proper laws
NO proper regulation
NO proper fines for big tech who get paid to publish these criminal ads
NO mention of when things will improve
NO sign of the promised online advertising programme to help
It isn't good enough. Vulnerable people are being scammed, lifes are being ruined, and people are totally unprotected.

UK water companies have managed to rack up combined debts of an eye-watering £65 billion. What on earth have they done with all that dosh? Certainly not repair massive water leaks or stop sewage polluting rivers and beaches. Even the absurd dividends they’ve been paying themselves can’t account for it. Perhaps Ofwat could explain, if it wasn’t in their pocket (clear example of what is known as regulatory capture).
The world will hopefully begin to get back to some sense of normality - when all 3 of these individuals are safely out of #WorldPolitics.
RT if you agree!

Sunak’s Illegal Migration Bill is a clear breach of the UK’s international legal obligations
Human rights are universal -it’s not up to this Government to pick who does & doesn’t deserve them
Share Bower is the Volunteer Coordinator here at Oasis. Volunteers are a hugely important part of the work that we do and we are so grateful to each and every one of them for the care and dedication they show every day. Thank you. #VolunteerWeek2023
