@themaggieshow_ Ugh I'm sorry this happened. It definitely seems like an over reaction and could have been a discussion about their idea of what supervision and appropriate proximity look like. And then risk mitigation because it sounds like a hazard that needs to be addressed for everyone sake!

Information
The wildfire danger level is now listed as “Low”. While this is great news, please remember that fire activity can change quickly depending on weather conditions. It’s important to stay prepared and follow trusted sources of information.
In today’s live update, Regional Fire Chief Jody Butz shared that RCMP visited every evacuated neighbourhood yesterday to document conditions of each home, and no damages were observed or reported.
40 RCMP members are fully dedicated to the security, safety, and patrols of these evacuated neighbourhoods.
If you missed the live update from Mayor Sandy Bowman, Chief Jody Butz and Alberta Wildfire Information Officer Josee St. Onge, you can watch the recording at https://t.co/PRiHsi0xwI.
As of 2 p.m., 2,690 evacuees have registered at an in-person reception centre in Lac La Biche, Cold Lake and Edmonton.
Reminders
Curbside collection has now resumed. Please put your bins out on the curb before 7:30 a.m. on your regular collection day. Curbside collection remains suspended in areas under evacuation order.
If you live in Fort McMurray and missed your normal collection day on Wednesday or Tuesday, please put your bins out for pickup tomorrow, May 18.
The landfill is currently open for commercial users only. This ensures apartments, condos, businesses, etc. can continue to recycle and dispose of waste.

May 16, 6:30 p.m. MWF-017 Update
Wildfire Information Update from Alberta Wildfire
MWF017 is classified as out of control at 19,820 hectares. The size reduction is due to a more accurate scan of the wildfire perimeter.
As of p.m. today, the closest point of the fire remains about 5.5 km from the Fort McMurray landfill and 4.5 km from the intersection of highways 63 and 881.
There was limited growth on the wildfire today. Rain showers helped lower fire activity and allowed firefighters to make good progress. More rain is expected overnight and tomorrow.
Firefighters worked on building a containment line today and heavy equipment continued to work on fire guards to the southwest of Fort McMurray.
Heavy equipment will continue to work overnight. Three-night vision helicopters will also be dropping water on hot spots, if weather conditions permit.
There are 172 firefighters, 22 helicopters and 57 pieces of heavy equipment currently assigned to the wildfire.
Firefighters have completed structure protection in the Abasand, Prairie Creek and Beacon Hill neighbourhoods, as well as on the Rickards Landing Industrial Park, Gregoire Lake Estates and Gregoire Lake 176.
Information
The May 17 community update with Mayor Sandy Bowman, Chief Jody Butz and Information Officer Josee St. Onge is scheduled for 10 am tomorrow morning at https://t.co/aYDp6J9Q9l
Reminder: A fire ban was implemented on May 15 in the urban service area of Fort McMurray to mirror the fire ban and OHV restriction enacted within the Forest Protection Area by Alberta Wildfire.
Pre-suppression and structural protection efforts have completed 4.5km of ground applied retardant (168 000L) and laid 4.9km of 12” water lines with water cannons in interface areas and the highway corridor as of May 16.
Today, media were escorted by RMWB representatives through the evacuated communities to see first-hand, the response efforts by Alberta Wildfire.
