Marathon fans are still in denial, you’ll have to forgive them. They don’t understand the only reason this game wasn’t immediately shut down like Concord was because nearly 70% of the launch players were Destiny 2 players.

Destiny 2 funded their entire game several times over and gave them a launch player count that didn’t immediately send Sony into shutdown mode.

Marathon fans should honestly be kneeling before Destiny 2 players and spit-shinning their shoes.

Nah, it’s dead. The game might still be “online” and it might be in the best state it’s been in since Forsaken, but the magic is gone.

The wonder and mystery is done, there’s nothing else coming and they finished up an entire story arc with a handful of dialogue(I’m glad they did but the point remains). The camaraderie, sense of community, it’s gone. They’ll slowly keep removing/deactivating things from the game when the spaghetti code keeps unraveling.

We will not change PlayStation’s mind. They killed this entire IP and sent it to their massive IP graveyard for Marathon, and when Marathon dies this year too, it’ll join it and Bungie will be no more. Our only hope is someone does their best to give us a spiritual successor.
