Camila Mendes’ Teela in #MastersOfTheUniverse is a heroine for the next generation. Even outside of Mendes’ physical acumen as shown here, her character gets ample time to display wit and wisdom, as well as exercise her agency outside of male arcs.

Aleshea Harris’ #IsGodIs is one of the best films of the year. It only deepens on second viewing. Kara Young & Mallori Johnson are an undeniable force. No weak links in the cast. In constant awe of how it straddles multiple genres with astute artistry.
