@shadowmaster132@DelLuna25 The concept of “boy books” existing is stupid tbh-plenty of girls like those types of books and I wouldn’t gender books personally
The problem is our society only seems to deem romance as “girl books” and anything else as neutral lol
Personally I believe EVERYONE can and should try to read ALL types of books lol-I’m pro reading in general and boys needing books to be “targeted” for them is not real bro idc
It’s so funny that people keep claiming that these authors haven’t been relevant in a long time, when there also hasn’t really been any popular series targeted for young girls recently. I promise if you walk into the kids section of a Barnes and nobles this wouldn’t be an issue
You guys. Percy Jackson? Harry Potter? Lord of the Rings? Dune? Pierce Brown? James Patterson? Patrick Ness? Brandon Sanderson? Please be serious. There are boy books about boys doing boy things. There are even male authors! A lot of them. I know it’s shocking!!!!
@JestersWar Well no actually
There are plenty of original kids books being written today, your just not a child that would see them lol
This is also untrue with regular books, I think you’re just chronically online, popular online writers are not “all the current writers” lmao😭
@k_bodgco Bad phrasing but you get what I mean, I loved reading growing up but honestly disliked ya books focusing on romance just like that, and so I knew I wasn’t their target audience and read something else
@k_bodgco Secondly these are all clearly fantasy books? With sometimes a romantic side plot, I don’t see any reason a boy wouldn’t read these honestly other than internalized distaste for female main characters? 😭
@AceoftheForest Did you actually read what I said?😭 She does not write books for little girls, the reason she’s popular is grown adults liking her books lmao
i love that period when you find a great series & you don't care about anything except the series. you forget about everything, just you & the series.
@PoobEnthusiast@ozaihater Of course! I did try to mention in my second reply that it doesn’t actually replace your meal but it can work as a filling in between snack. And while I’ve never gotten too dependent on them since I don’t really mind that feeling of skipping lunch, this is a great point
@ozaihater This might not work for you, but it helps me personally to have easy access to things like protein bars that fill me up. You can keep a box in your pantry or bedroom or something and try to carry some with you throughout the day!
