Disturbing to see so many people vilifying protestors, calling them an irritant, then unashamedly defending their right to be entertained by an activity that literally kills thousands of horses. I wonder if they have any idea how desperately, morally lost they are. #GrandNational

Rescuing animals is not a crime. Rescuing animals is not wrong. Rescuing animals is not theft. For far too long, corporations have controlled the narrative. But slowly but surely, the world is starting to see the animals’ side of the story. The world is starting to see the suffering animals endure. The world is starting to see their desperate need to be rescued, no matter what it takes. I am so proud of my friends @aliciasanturio and @alexandra_paul for bringing us one step closer to animal liberation. They convinced a jury of 12 in a conservative county that rescuing animals is not a crime, but an act of compassion.

I’ve known Alicia for around 8 years now. We have rescued and cared for so many animals together. This picture was taken while we were rescuing 100 turkeys from a slaughterhouse. Alicia is one of the most selfless people I know. It’s 100% about the animals for her, always. Alexandra is the same. I’ve known Alexandra for about 7 years. I first met her when she came to my animal sanctuary and I could see how much animal rescue meant to her. I was so nervous when the verdict was being read yesterday, and I am beyond grateful that the jury saw Alexandra and Alicia’s actions for what they were. I am so glad they could see that they are just compassionate individuals trying to do the right thing.

The tide is changing. We are living in a historic era in the fight for animal rights. Please, join us and be on the right side of history.
