Vet Ultrasound Trick Of The Day.... There are 4 things to evaluate carefully when scanning the bladder.
The hardest of the 4 is reviewed in our Master Academy. This photo goes over the trick. What are we looking at?
When we are learning to scan as a #DVM or #LVT it is key to understand the fundamentals of ultrasound science. Here you can see two dark circular structures. Luckily they are labeled but knowing the history is important to help with scanning in #vetmed
3. Use color doppler to track the aorta and venous vessels, they bifurcate under the bladder. At this junction, look and measure the caudal iliac lymph nodes.
4. Angle the probe caudally from the trigone to evaluate the proximal urethra for evidence of TCC (tcc)
The perfect bladder scan steps....
1. Look through the bladder from cranial to caudal in transverse plane, scanning slowly and saving pictures.
2. Next, perform a scan in a sagittal plane, moving from midline to lateral.
