I don’t know how many times I’ll have to repeat this, but here we go.

The money he keeps ranting about was Iran’s money that we owed for military equipment the Shah bought but we never delivered (plus interest). We repaid it to settle a dispute before the Iran-US Claims Tribunal because we would’ve had to pay far more if the tribunal had ruled in that case.

The cash he’s talking about was delivered in Swiss Francs and Euros because we could not actually transfer dollars to Iran.

Trump starts a trade war, expecting the world will take it. Instead, the US loses jobs, farms go bankrupt, manufacturing declines, and our trading partners make deals with China rather than with the US. Worst of all, Trump's tariffs are illegal, so the government ends up with nothing for all the trouble.

Trump berates NATO and threatens to invade a NATO nation. Then, when Trump starts a war in Iran without talking to our allies first, he's shocked when they don't show up to help.

Trump bombs Iran, expecting them to cave to his demands a few days later. Instead, Iran attacks US military bases and damages other nations' energy production. It closes the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting global energy markets, sending gas prices over $4 a gallon, and spiking US inflation to the highest in years. The war is in its eighth week.

Trump is outmatched and continues to fail. His first term was a shock to America and the world, but this time, everyone was ready for him.

Trump's bullying no longer works, and that's all he knows.

Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.

Donald Trump is over -30 on cost of living. -28 on taxes. Americans actually supported what we were doing with the Ukrainians. 71% after the Russia invasion said we should provide weapons. Today, 69% view the war as important to American interests -- the Russia-Ukraine war, not the war in Iran right now which has over 50% disapproval. 

The other important point to that is that President Biden and Kamala Harris actually got congressional approval for the money that they sent to the Ukraine. They didn't just say I'm going to do what I want. They asked people who were elected by us, what do you think about this? It was approved and they were part of a coalition of over 50 countries that sent aid and weapons to the Ukrainians. That's how it's supposed to work.
