Many of you have reached out to ask how you might be able to help our veterans. Thank you for your passion to still help those who did so much for our country! We have set up a fundraiser for the Veterans Food Bank to help with our continued efforts.

This @GivingTuesday, we’re proud to partner with @Instacart, to provide food to our community.
From 11/30-12/7, Instacart customers can choose to support a local nonprofit (like us!) and 1 meal will be donated for every order they place–at no extra cost.

America lost another Medal of Honor hero today. Korean War veteran SFC Ronald E Rosser.
He tells his own amazing story in this American Legion video.
It was a great honor to know you sir. Thank you for serving our country. God bless you.

Chapter One
Upon arrival at Montford Point today in 1942, the first African Americans to enter the Marine Corps began their triumphant story in our history. Today, we celebrate their courageous contributions leading to the successes of today and the future still unwritten.
An Independent Corps
A monumental moment in Marine Corps history happened today in 1798.
President John Adams signed into law “An Act for Establishing and Organizing a Marine Corps,” which solidified the virtue of “The Few, The Proud.”
Our food bank, the Veterans Food Bank, has seen a 100% increase in food needed due to Covid-19. Please consider donating and helping us keep up with the demands.

The Big Give was created in 2011 as a way to bring people together to support our area nonprofits, and there’s never been a greater need than there is today.

Our Executive Director felt inspired to write this in response to what is happening in America.
Veterans need to take a stand.
In 1935, African American poet Langston Hughes wrote:
Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be....

The national stimulus bill was just signed, and fake checks are already landing in mailboxes. Scammers don't waste a second. #stimulusbill#Covid_19 https://t.co/PsWwHnLw1b
@Buccigross We couldn't agree more! We run Ohio's largest Veteran Food Bank. Here's a link for anyone who might want to help out. In times like these, anything is appreciated. https://t.co/PzvWwfSuJT
March 25th is National Medal of Honor Day! How do you plan to live out the values embodied in the Medal of Honor -- courage, sacrifice, commitment, integrity, citizenship, and patriotism -- and inspire others to do so too? We’d love to know!
Polls have been closed due to public health. There is a date in place to reschedule, but @SecLaRoseComms said there has already been litigation against the decision, so that date could change. Until then, you can request a ballot and vote from home.

Today is the 40th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. This was the Cold War era, where beating the Russians meant everything. You can’t watch Herb Brooks’ locker room speech without getting tingles!
"Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world."
Watching Kurt Russell play Herb Brooks and deliver his legendary locker room speech is a great way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the "Miracle on Ice."
