@mikemearls There is another aspect I think people forget and that is not just the rp, maybe the npc liked something particularly you mention like hurting an enemy of them, recovering something they lost. Heck they have a sick child, and you mentioned is for sick children.
Critical Role's Brennan Lee Mulligan ditched D&D's dice in Campaign 4: no roll needed because a PC monologue was "too good."
Performance now overrides actual gameplay.
This isn't D&D. It's scripted celebrity theater pretending to be gaming.
They. Don't Really. Play.
Most of the time I see players describe an attack is to get an advantage, like making called shots, trying to blind an enemy, I adjust difficulty on harder to hit targets or easier to hit targets, most do out right disadvantage for called shots... In social I agree your character Oratory skills might not be your own, but is more fun for everyone including the GM if the players are trying to rp, I usually just adjust dificulty depending on what they say, some npcs like/hate compliments qnd might alter the check, I have rewarded bad rp for people that don't try enough. If everything is the same role regardless of roleplay, might as well play a board game like gloom Haven and not a Role-playing game.
@Merrydawg You are required to do 1 hour of research before liking a post, 10 replies, 100 for reposts (0 for quoting to call someone's art AI even if they are clearly an artist), and 1,000 to follow someone.
@memeslich Purposely not planning cause you are good at improvising, and not taking time to clear up things with your players about their character concept to integrate their personal stories into the game.
@kuromiyalucien Feel that; it's okay, take your time. Many people want to collab with you for you.
But it is difficult. I try to know people a bit more before collabing now. I watch their content; whatever time is short, and it takes time, but it's worth it.
@podgekinn One old argument of why some people dislike sharing it... It is cause they have experienced sharing the client making changes and then having to deal with the client's edits
@Arraveriii Last rigger, I commissioned, asked me to pay them for it when they told me they were no longer, going to be a rigger... Next model I use I will rig it myself I have been learning and can't deal with another rigger.
@LenoreLiddellVT I hope so would mean the lore is moving too lol. It is said that sisters of silence only see a man in pain, since they can see through the psychic glamour. Hard to know which is "real" since it is kinda like an Schrodinger situation in the most literal sense.
@sherryvt_ I agree honestly I have commissioned for personal stuff that only some friends get to see, I don't think it is dishonest as others say to add the fee even if Vgen is mainly for vtubers... But imo things like overlays, vtuber models, could have it included with the base price.
@Sutekinamimi@raituna_art In my opinion it depends, if they are using it for their own content, it is Monetized, as others see assets but can't use it.
If they are redistributing, for other people to use either editing or as they get it. It becomes digital merchandise. As they sell the asset itself.
