Many politicians are doing the complete wrong things with taxpayer money, or not paying attention to their constituents' needs.

If politicians started seeing fees appear in their X accounts, they are 1000x more likely to actually care about specific problems.

This is basically crowsourced lobbying.

People who deploy the coins can choose or suggest what the politician should use the funds for.

Actually, here's an idea: there should be a way for someone to log into a site with X and allow their followers and holders of the token to use their @UsePaid funds like a DAO, voting on/suggesting where it will go.

Most politicians will not accept the funds, but there probably will be some who do – this is how @UsePaid could immediately go mainstream.

I think the perfect fit is a @ZohranKMamdani coin, and then asking him to use the funds for something cool in the city (I would suggest an art installation or a free concert/show, something cultural).

Zohran might actually understand and engage if it's for a good cause benefitting New Yorkers.

It has to be framed, and executed, as a true positive for society. Cannot be farmy, extractive or ruggy.

If a politician accepts a coin's fees, we must assure them they are not responsible for the coin's performance. They are simply accepting crowdsourced donations.
