The trademark image comes from a painting by English artist #FrancisBarraud and titled His Master's Voice. It was acquired from the artist in 1899 by the newly formed #Gramophone Company.
On this day in #PatentHistory February 22, 1916 Ernst #Alexanderson was issued U.S patent for a selective tuning device for #Radios, that became an integral part of modern radio systems and led to his being honored in the Inventors Hall of Fame.

Wallace H. Carothers (1896-1937) was an 🇺🇸 chemist, #inventor & leader of organic chemistry at DuPont. #OTD Feb 16, 1937 he was granted the #patent 🔻 for nylon, 5 + a half years after filing the @uspto application. Suffering from depression, he committed suicide April 29, 1937.
