@JesseKreier@gregor_seb Quite rare in the EU too. The Commission is usually not too keen if there are more than a few product types. I think the latest ones were about 10 years ago
@gregor_seb@JesseKreier The BASR provides on undertakings in CVD: (a) the country of export agrees to eliminate the subsidy; or (b) exporter undertakes to revise prices or cease exports to the area in question. Cease exports to the area in question is a bit cryptic to me
New @rhodium_group study written with @noahbarkin and @AgathaKratz on the EU’s probe into Chinese EVs. We expect duties around 15-30%, which will still leave enough room for many China-based exporters to earn high profits in the EU. https://t.co/mUCQOWF6A1
So glad to have continued our collaboration on this matter, following recent publications and a co-organised session at WTO PF23. @CIBELUNSW@henrysgao@VicCrochet
Glad to see our article is out @EurJRR! @jochellegs and I argue the #SPS Agreement structurally creates and sustains a right to refuse equivalence. We explore its limits and ask, can regulatory trust help overcome it? #openaccess https://t.co/dagQRrmp90
@TGehrke_ @FerdiDeVille It is standard procedure, the tendering authorities must forward the notifications received by the bidders under the FSR to the Commission. The commission then decides whether to act on it or not
@FerdiDeVille The risk long term is also that Chinese companies will stop investing and participating in tenders in the EU altogether given the uncertainties caused by the FSR and potentially very painful remedies that the Commission can impose besides simply blocking the transaction...
Great to have worked with @VicCrochet on another important paper mapping out policy frameworks and tools that compete for critical minerals and implications for supply chains. Always a pleasure publishing with @JIEL_OUP@CIBELUNSW@UNSWLaw
Yet, faced with the current geopolitical situation and the wave of metallic nationalism, it remains uncertain whether the above framework will prove adequate to satisfy the EU's needs for raw materials ♻️

In addition to these trade and investment aspects, the EU is also trying to increase collaboration with allies in order to harmonize standards and investment patterns as well as provide financing to developing country partners to increase extraction and processing therein 🌍
