Victorian Turkish Baths—the only book on the subject https://t.co/Cjw9K47BBU available from online booksellers. Book updates https://t.co/ZBIarm1AZy. Website https://t.co/ReEtmHF8hR. What is a VTb? https://t.co/pa97utPf0Y. Turkish baths still open https://t.co/viw5VI96Rh.
So delighted to be welcoming visitors for @Glasgowdodf to the Arlington Baths Club! Especially to show off our new exhibition about 150 years of our Turkish bath, along with info panels from @VicTurkBath telling the story of #Turkish#baths in the UK and Ireland. #DoorsOpen
Lovely to see this appreciation for the Turkish bath; we certainly love ours! And big shout-out to Malcolm Shifrin @victurkbath who has done so much to reveal the history of what was once a readily available luxury https://t.co/3A9ESyDdFG @historicpools
Twitter is no longer what it was. I have not posted for some time, this will be my last post, & I won't read it after 14 Jan. THANK YOU to all who have followed me over the years, & to those I've followed from whom I have often gained much—I can still be contacted via my website.
@QuentinNewark @TMOWilkinson @caitigrove Thank you. I hadn't realised that. It's something I should have known and will now definitely have to consider. They don't do an ODNB do they?!
@QuentinNewark @TMOWilkinson I already have the hardcopy revised 1933 Onions Shorter OED; It's the long sections of historical quotes that I need and everything else that they have now taken offline. & @caitigrove
Embrace Erasmus+ today!: Our withdrawal from Erasmus+ is having devastating consequences on the UK. That's why I just signed the petition calling on the government to rejoin the programme now. Will you sign the petition too? https://t.co/XpHShwk3pB
Campaigners seek listed status for Finnish sauna from 1948 London Olympics https://t.co/O0c9HEwMo1 For heaven's sake, don't publicise it or someone from @cityoflondon will want to hang an office block over it. Let us hope @HistoricEngland lists it quickly.
If you've not yet discovered the fabulous @VicTurkBath website you are missing a treat. And even more excitingly, it's recently been updated

This morning's snail mail brought a small package marked 'Return address, Smedley Hydro, Trafalgar Rd, Southport'. The hydro, requisitioned in 1939 remained closed after the war—until now? But opening it only revealed my dated passport—a sad reminder that I'm no longer in the EU.
The website is designed as an information exchange— see the large number of thank you footnotes—and I would most welcome information about any baths which have not been included. Contact me briefly first (to save your time) as there is much in the VTB database not yet published.
@LonMidArchSoc If you enjoyed my paper at the Local History conference, and would like to find out more about London's Victorian Turkish baths, then you can read about London's 1st at https://t.co/U4t0I2NXXy and about many others in London at https://t.co/tFcfLTFy3C.
