New article published looking at the behaviour of hippos in Botswana and how it varies throughout the day, seasonally, and in different areas. Very little research done on this topic, so feeling happy to get this info out there π¦π§πΌ

Just astounding - an ecosystem collapse event & no emergency response. Look at it! I canβt believe not 1 Minister or responsible MP with levers to engage a logistics response has turned up or is doing a thing! @Dom_Perrottet@AlboMP@James_HGriffin@tanya_plibersek#nswpol
Woohoo just managed to scrape in a publication in 2022!
New methods paper on how to study hippos with the drone, even when they are being uncooperative and half under the water.

So useful if you need to keep an eye on those sneaky drones. Nothing worse than flying all day and realising FOR NO REASON it deciding not to take some photos.
Probably my most useful publication. Need to check the drone has done what it was supposed to? Heres how you can do it - before its too late! β° https://t.co/Y4m7DIc8LE
What an incredible week at the #SAWMA2022 conference talking Australian flying-foxes and drones, and hearing from scientists and reserve managers about wildlife management issues faced in Southern Africa. Thank you so much @SAWMA_wildlife and @AWMSociety for your support!
Hi all, as a guest editor for the special edition of MDPI #drones 'Advances of Drones in #Wildlife Research' it would be great to hear from people working in this space and looking to publish. Send me a message!
Yay #SAWMA2022 is on! Massive shoutout to @AWMSociety for the travel grant to attend the conference. Can't wait to talk hippos again!! Also props to @SAWMA_wildlife for the nicest conference bags ever π
I can't get over this. The Chinese paddlefish survived for 190 MILLION YEARS. It survived the mass extinction event that killed off the dinosaurs. It had existed on Earth for almost one thousand times longer than Homo Sapiens - yet we destroyed it, forever.
