Walk with me cuz I’m long winded here:
I can assure you that Marshall is 10x more Hip Hop than Aubrey will ever be. Marshall comes from the trenches in Detroit. He started in battle rap. He came up on Lyricists Lounge (most y’all got no clue what that is)—Em embodies Hip Hop and he has since he came in this joint. His Hip Hop genetic engineering makeup is just different than Drakes.
When detractors speak on Em not being Hip Hop, they speak on him being white—that’s about it.
When detractors speak on Aubrey not being Hip Hop, they speak on him being half white. JuuWiishh. Canadian. From privilege. He’s a suburban kid. Started as an actor on a Canadian teen sitcom. He makes alotta Pop records.
This isn’t my personal opinion, but the list of reasons why ppl speak against Aubrey’s Hip Hop card, that list is as long as a CVS receipt.
When they question Marshall’s Hip Hop card, it begins and ends with “he’s white”.

Pitchfork gave Drake’s ICEMAN a 4.8, describing the album as ‘a buffet of humiliation, mortification, and self-serving delusion’ while labeling it ‘the longest filibuster of his existence!’
The review argues that much of the project remains fixated on the aftermath of the Kendrick Lamar battle, pointing to recurring themes of streaming numbers, lawsuits, industry politics, and continued subliminal shots. One passage describes Drake as ‘mumbling insults at Kendrick through a mouthful of broken teeth!’
While noting Drake’s continued obsession with relevance and public perception, Pitchfork ultimately frames ICEMAN as ‘a missed opportunity,’ closing the review by calling the album ‘bleak, joyless rap that seems to please no one, least of all its maker!’”
Album Review for Iceman by Drake
After finally concluding my 3rd (and final listen) i can honestly say this album is one for the ages. It’s got so many elements that really stand out it’s almost impossible to ignore. This album is the most iconic piece of shit I’ve heard from a rapper in a while. Suing your record label and filing an appeal wasn’t enough, you had to comeback to the record and STILL THROW DISS SHOTS at the niggas who you, yourself said “made you reflect”. This shit proves that self-awareness isn’t always there for Drake and while that’s ok in certain aspects, actually no the fuck it’s not, he’s pushing 40 and he’s deadass saying he cannot focus on his therapy session because he’s attracted to his therapist. If this ain’t the most tone deaf shit.
*Takes deep breath* Let’s continue. So the intro does set up the album for what you can assume is something that’s overly lyrical and not filled with club bangers but more conscious tracks. Dust damn near fucked that up with them shitty high notes but then the beat switches and boom he’s trying to talk shit and it’s not too bad. Throughout the album you get some glimpses of some decent bars but overall lyrically, Drake has the vocabulary of a 6th grader and the rhyme scheme of a 5 year old. These Blues clues ass raps really show how immature this nigga is because at some point your music should mature with you and this nigga music sounds like he ain’t been shot by Rick Murray yet.
Production wise, I’m not gonna say it’s all bad. There are some horrendous beats. That Mac Dre shit… yeah, no. Ran to Atlanta? Ass. There are also some track in the middle that don’t really standout because it starts to sound repetitive with the same drum kicks and melodies as well. I think with the exception of maybe 3 songs here, this project feels more like an example of you hit me so ima go tell my mom but then ima also go get my gun.
Out of the 3, this one is the best but if the standard is this… then that means the bar is under hell.
Final Score: 2/10
