@BristolAirport can you advise on whether the E-gate maintenance will be finished by Friday? Picking family member up and don’t want to get stung on parking charge #cheers
I should know better, but I am astounded at the number on Twitter, who know the cost of everything and the value of nothing!
You know my views on Civil Servant accounting. I doubt the cost of the Coronation will be £250 Million. But let’s say it is.
The Jubilee brought in £6.4 Billion. Even if the Coronation only brings in the expected £1 Billion, it’s still a good deal.
They criticise the King for his personal wealth, yet idolise Lineker with his obscene BBC pay check - who in comparison does far less for others.
They complain about the King not paying inheritance tax, but forget the profits of his properties goes mostly back to the exchequer - making Corporation Tax look like pocket money!
They also forget that, unlike them, Charles doesn’t get to retire, and has probably done more to help society and the disadvantaged in one year, than they will ever do in a lifetime.
And they also forget: swap the king for an elected head of state, and absolutely nothing will change for the better.
