I think #KTO assumes that I want to learn more about Korean history and culture because a lot of the places that were showcased were cultural centers and museums. I love the integration of the younger generation of Korean idols and the mix of #pansoori music.

I felt like I wanted to explore and see the different colorful cities. I do think they eliminated the older generation because all the places seemed to involve a lot of walking and the general whole video was them dancing. I don't think my grandma would be as motivated.

@GabiGuz60411990 It feels like women can't define their own beauty to each of their own standards, or at least until much later on in life for most women. There's already criticism from family members, friends, and others. Now some women feel like they have to satisfy men that they don't know.

@Emmalaiu Yeah, really young kids have access to #technology that opens the door wide open to appropriate, but also inappropriate content out in the world. It is also hard as a guardian to control what they see and hear in their settings, so it isn't a good idea to push these ideologies.

Like the examples videos that Dr. Saeji showed of the #Kpop artists. It made me uncomfortable from a female perspective. Also, I've always thought that South Korea is pretty #conservative relative to the US, so it was shocking that those videos were published.

I think we #romanticize the country lifestyle but still live in cities because that's where we believe the opportunities are. I also think we always want or romanticize the other possibilities. At least that is how it is for me, I need to be in the city to be successful.

Silver Spoon was the first #manga that I've ever read, and it was interesting to read and learn about the social issue in East Asia. I think the demographic change can be addressed by popular culture and other forms of media. #fertility is a big factor for the demographic change.

But I could see it in East Asian countries too. As far as urbanization, I think it has become a big thing to garden and compost to grow your own produce. This is a very simple example, but I think people are caring more about "traditional" past ways.

@GabiGuz60411990 I definitely agree. Like the example that Dr. Saeji showed in class, the virtual celebrity is vegan even though she actually doesn't eat to sustain herself. I think virtual idols still have people standing behind them that make the decision for them.

because their audience is more accepting of virtual and less tangible ideas. I think they are limited by their reach because I would think that they don't have as big of an audience. I also think that it might be not as persuasive by a real human personality.

I think the main difference between real humans and virtual idols promoting a product/service is that real humans are probably held to a higher standard. They are probably questioned if they actually like the brand or not, but I feel like virtual idols get a different pass

Overall, if people enjoy and can connect with #BL manga, then I see the benefit over the costs. I think it is better than just having #heteronormative stories and manga. Thank you @tbaudinette for the great lecture!

BL being too fantastic doesn't seem like an issue to me. At least in moderation of what is reality and fantasy. I personally watch/read entertainment for an escape from reality to explore different stories and "to escape reality" sometimes.
