Standing before the graduating class of Clifford University today giving the commencement speech, I felt something bigger than music. I saw a generation ready to change everything. 🇳🇬✨
When I looked into their faces, I saw the same fire that built me, that hunger to be seen, to make something out of nothing, to turn pain into power. I told them that talent might open the door, but purpose gives it meaning.
We live in a time where young people carry the future of Africa in their hands. It’s our time, but it’s also our test, to use our platforms, our influence, and our voices to build, not just for ourselves, but for the next ones coming after us. As artists, as dreamers, as believers, we must lead by example. We must show that true greatness is not measured only in numbers, but in impact.
My mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke, understood that long before I did. She was a teacher, a giver, a woman who believed that education and compassion could change lives. Everything I am, the music, the drive, the heart, came from her.
Today, I had the honor of inaugurating a hostel at Clifford University named after her. Walking through that building, seeing the smiles of the students who will live there, I realized this was more than a tribute. It was a continuation of her purpose, turning love into legacy, one life at a time.
This moment reminded me that even when our parents are gone, their lessons remain alive in what we build, in who we lift, and in how we love.
This one’s for her, for every young African chasing their dream, and for everyone who believes we can rise higher, together. 💙
We Rise By Lifting Others
Nigerian Youths lost their lives, jobs, families and dreams at the hands of the most corrupt and evil People we call Leaders!!!
Even though my people are now in love with their Oppressors, this day 20/10/2020 is never to be forgotten nor forgiven! ✊🏿
To those who were brutally murdered by the state, the maimed, and those still in prison, we are sorry we haven’t been able to do so much more for you five years on. #EndSARS
A narcissist doesn’t love you. They love your access. They love your energy, your empathy, your effort — but they don’t value it. They study you, mirror you, charm you… all just to get what they want. To them, people aren’t people — they’re supply. A means to feel important. A backup plan. A safe haven for when life humbles them and they need a place to hide.
They’ll cry about childhood wounds and tell you their trauma made them this way — but when you offer them healing, support, or therapy? They resist. Because healing would mean taking accountability, and narcissists fear accountability. They live in cycles of chaos and blame. They know exactly what they're doing — they just don’t care enough to change it.
You can pour every ounce of love, compassion, and loyalty into them… and they will still betray you behind your back, all while blaming you for their mess. They'll manipulate your emotions, invalidate your feelings, then gaslight you when you try to hold them accountable. They are never satisfied, because deep down they’re not seeking love — they’re seeking control.
Being with a narcissist is like drowning while they watch you and ask why you’re not smiling. It’s mentally exhausting, emotionally destructive, and spiritually draining. And when you're finally empty? They'll act like you're the crazy one for needing to be refilled.
So if you’re dealing with one, hear this loud and clear: you can’t fix them. You can’t save them. You owe yourself freedom, peace, and healing. Walk away before you forget who you are trying to prove your worth to someone who doesn't even know how to love.
Protect your heart. Reclaim your power. You deserve real love, not manipulation masked as connection.
Lord, in 2025, put me in a position where I never have to beg, borrow, or struggle. Kindly put me where I can go all in in pursuit of my goals. Lastly, fix my heart and mind to serve all those you would love me to work with by honesty, respect, and kindness. Amen. 🙏❤️
Finally met my grandson and had a naming ceremony for him.
What a precious gift from God he is.
We thank God for a wonderful naming ceremony!
May God give you reasons for genuine celebrations in this season in Jesus name
