Sad watching #suzylamplugh doc. learning that Diana Lamplugh passed without answers. I had training from Diana as a young woman in the 1990’s & still adopt some of that learning. Shocked 800 women were in mortuary’s unknown in the reinvestigation. So many families 💔
This is a hugely prestigious award that celebrates and recognises the significant integrated work—which we're proud to be a part of—to improve the health and wellbeing of residents of Walsall. 😊 Well done to everyone who continues to work so hard to make this partnership such a success.
Such an amazing #diwalibasketbrigade 2023 event which the stronger communities team attended on behalf of @wearewhg
Food insecurity, destitution and poverty is at an all time high and these hampers make the difference between hunger and hope. Thankyou so much @diwalibrigade
I have loved painting forever, but was impatient, often rushed & thrown in the bin. So I joined a class & took my time… my #wellbeing top up once a fortnight is a total gift ❤️
Loving our wellbeing area takeover this week. #Daw23 inviting colleagues to share experiences and create a collaborative art gallery. Amazing conversations already 💙💙💙 #DyslexiaAwarenessWeek
Our partners, including @wolvesASAN, @YMCA_BC, and @Morro_PS (Jessup), joined us recently to host a delegation from @HomesEngland 🏘👷🏼♂️
We had the pleasure of showing them our schemes at Cleveland Road and the former Royal Hospital in Wolverhampton.
We started the day by discussing how this particular place-based partnership was formed and the agency's significant role in initially bringing the sites to market.
Shobha from ASAN gave us an insight into what the former hospital site in particular, means to the local community and people of #Wolverhampton.
A tour of the YMCA's headquarters and City Gateway scheme followed and Sally, Chief Operations Officer, described:
"63 units of 'Y-Living' funded by Homes England providing accommodation for economically active 18-35 year olds who need safe, secure accommodation. Also on-site, we have a nursery delivering a bespoke curriculum to our children, and we deliver a range of youth work, mentoring and employment support programmes."
The day included a tour around our live development with the construction team of Jessup, including seeing progress on converting the Grade II listed former hospital building.
Johnathon Edmondson, Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships from Homes England, adds:
“It was good to see the great work being done by whg, the YMCA and Jessup in Wolverhampton. Homes England is committed to supporting partners with ambitions to build new homes and our investment through the affordable housing grant allows us to do that. The development of the YMCA City Gateway and the Royal Hospital Quarter is clear evidence of the impact our funding can have on the local area.”
To end the day, our Director of Stronger Communities, @ConnieJ26969387, gave a talk on our wellbeing offer for people aged over 55 and shared some statistics on health outcomes associated with it.
Homes England also assisted in initiating our new series of time capsules that will be buried before the scheme’s completion. The first capsule was devoted to items which had a health-related theme and would be of interest to future generations.
Stay tuned for more updates.

How frustrating… I can remember a number plate on my car from 1990 but have to photograph my car in 2023 to input the number plate when parking up to get a pass! 🥹
Our team @wearewhg raised an an amazing amount… incredibly proud of them and for such a wonderful organisation that touches the lives of so many loved ones @macmillancancer
