Leah Remini’s 2023 'Fair Game' suit against #Scientology got derailed when both sides didn’t like an early ruling. After more than a year at the appellate level there's finally an oral arguments hearing date. And lucky for all of us we can watch it live! https://t.co/EZ5NfCNhKB
Photo op for the “press” and fans. 🙄
Ironically, the “press” won’t investigate Scientology and call out the grifting David Miscavige. Looks like Leah Remini and Mike Rinder did more work than the “press” ever did.
I encourage the “press” to listen to the lyrics of this… https://t.co/aSoysSCsH2
So proud of my friend Devon Graham who was just promoted to head of nonfiction! Devon was the executive at A&E who oversaw our documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.
Had it not been for Devon truly listening to us and, more importantly, to the victims and survivors who trusted us with their stories, it would have been a very different series. She understood that our responsibility was not to chase headlines or sensationalize people’s experiences: it was to tell their stories truthfully, accurately, and with compassion.
She would fly 3,000 miles to sit in the editing bay with me and Mike Rinder, because she knew how much getting it right mattered to us. She spent countless hours listening to us explain what was important, and she also took the time to listen to the brave contributors who shared their stories. She understood how important it was that we honor those experiences, and make sure those stories were told with care and integrity.
She didn’t have to do that. It wasn’t really part of her job. Her job was to oversee the series and make sure we delivered the show. But she went far beyond that, over and over again, for three seasons.
Devon is that rare executive who deeply cares about the work, the people behind it, and the responsibility that comes with telling difficult and important stories. She never lost sight of the human beings at the center of those stories.
She was not only a friend to the many brave contributors who shared their experiences on The Aftermath, she also became one of my dearest friends.
Sony, you got a good one. Congratulations, my friend. Mike would agree, this is so incredibly well deserved.
Those of us who combat Scientology are left with a very bleak picture in the Los Angeles mayoral race as well.
Karen Bass — Spoke at a major Scientology event, lied to Leah Remini and Mike Rinder in a phone call about how it came together, and took no responsibility for her actions. Then she did nothing to combat Scientology during the four years she was mayor. Not a thing.
Spencer Pratt — Widely and publicly supported by many prominent Scientologists. Not suggesting that he has courted this support, but they clearly feel comfortable with him.
Nithya Raman — Her district includes some of the most prominent Scientology properties, where we know crimes are taking place every single day and where members, staff, and Sea Org members are being held against their will. I have no evidence she has done anything to address those issues, investigate those allegations, or use the power of her office to confront what is happening in her district.
When it comes to abuse and/or high control groups, safety planning may be necessary.
For those who want to leave Scientology or the Sea Org, we can help.
In a world where so much feels curated and performative, I have come to appreciate the rare beauty of families that change shape, but never lose the love that is real.
Some may not understand it.
But I am incredibly proud of the family we built - and even more proud of the family we chose to remain.
Happy Birthday Ang, Willy & Bri
Today, we honor the brave men and women of the armed forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to something bigger than themselves. My heart is with the children, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, families, husbands, wives and friends who carry on their legacies, and who know better than anyone how steep the cost of freedom truly is.
Iceland must not allow vulnerable fin whales to be harpooned again for an unpopular industry. After two years without whaling, bringing back these cruel hunts is a devastating step backward. Please stop Hvalur hf. and end commercial whaling for good.
Iceland’s whales could be hunted again after two peaceful years.
Urge Iceland to stop Hvalur hf. and end commercial whaling for good. #StopWhaling#SaveWhales#Iceland https://t.co/E1MaAuEIy8
Former California AG Xavier Becerra has surged in the polls to become the number one Democrat in the June 2 gubernatorial primary. But what does he have to say about his years as a #Scientology booster and celebrity gladhander? We examine the record. https://t.co/g2ZVCpvRzB
