Arturo Vidal:
"Imagine that in Barcelona, we were playing mini-matches, and Messi was playing the role of the neutral player, and he couldn't switch to any team 😂
It was wonderful to have him as a teammate and rival. And what he has given to football in general is unbelievable."

‘Plays like a child’ – Sheringham claims Gyokeres ‘doesn’t understand’ his position
Teddy Sheringham has criticised Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres, suggesting the striker ‘plays like a child’ and does not understand his role as a centre forward.

Gyokeres arrived at the Emirates last summer, joining Mikel Arteta’s side from Sporting CP after scoring 97 goals in 102 appearances for the Portuguese side.
The Swedish striker amassed a respectable 22 goals in all competitions over the course of his debut season in English football but failed to fully win over large swathes of the fanbase.
And Kai Havertz’s return to form and fitness has seen him firmly usurp Gyokeres as Arteta’s go-to centre forward at the start of the current campaign.
Gyokeres is yet to start a Premier League match this season, but Sheringham believes there is good reason for this as he claimed the 28-year-old still has plenty of areas in his game that need improvement.
‘It shocks me that he’s still playing like a kid,’ Sheringham told Hajper.
‘I don’t think he has understood what it means to be an attacking player and what he has to do.

‘There are different ways to play striker, but he needs to be told to hold onto the ball when it comes to him.
‘He does some things well, but constantly gives the ball away and when you are 28 years old, you should have learned this a long time ago.’
In the wake of such criticism, Gyokeres has delivered a timely reminder of his capabilities over the international break, scoring four goals in four games for Graham Potter’s Sweden.

Asked about what the Arsenal striker brings to his side, Potter recently said: ‘The way he leads, how he gets all the players involved, how he gives us a completely different dimension to our game.
‘That he’s scoring again, he’s in fantastic form.’
Gyokeres will hope his goalscoring form for Sweden could see him back in the starting lineup when Arsenal host Leeds United on Saturday.
But regardless, the striker has admitted that he is keen to play more regular minutes after his slow start to the club season.
‘I haven’t played a lot, but I’ve had a few games,’ he said.
It’s felt okay then, but it’s clear that I want to play football and as much as possible. Hopefully that will come, too. You always want to be on the field as a football player.
‘Of course you expect more playing time, but we have an extremely good squad with a lot of good players and have been doing well here at the start.
‘I’m just trying to focus on what I can control and do my best to play more.’
🚨 Ronaldo🇵🇹 rules out international retirement but apologises for Portugal exit!
Cristiano Ronaldo has promised to have "one or more farewell matches" after confirming he will not retire from international duty with Portugal following a rift with Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo announced he had left Portugal's Nations League squad ahead of their 4-2 win over Denmark last week and said he would "tell people the truth" about his decision.
The 41-year-old started in the Selecao's 1-0 win over Wales but was taken off in the 67th minute before being an unused substitute in Portugal's 2-1 victory against Norway.
In a lengthy statement posted on social media, Ronaldo said that Jesus had "broken his word" after saying that he would play him for the final 30 minutes against Stale Solbakken's side.
But has now apologised for his actions and said he would accept whatever punishment came his way, but Ronaldo refused to draw the curtain on his career with Portugal.
"I decided to leave the camp without waiting for any further breach of word," one part of Ronaldo's statement read.
"For me, the truth is still the most important thing in the relationship between people. However much it hurts, let them tell me the truth.
"Never, at any moment, have I interfered in any technical or tactical decision of any coach or national team manager in almost 25 years of my career.
"I accept, for better or worse, what they propose that I do. I respect the decision, and when they break their word to me, I feel that my place is not there.
"I also owe an apology to my national team teammates for having left the camp. Despite the absolute breach of trust in the coach's word, as those who witnessed these conversations can attest, I should not have done it.
The responsibility is exclusively mine.
"On this subject, I have heard a great deal of talk about farewell matches, that I must have a dignified farewell and that the Federation wants to give me that opportunity.
"I learned in life, often hungry and with nothing to eat, that no one gives anything to anyone. I can promise all my fans, naturally and especially all Portuguese people, that we will have one or more farewell matches; there will be time for that.
"Therefore, if I am physically well, playing for my club, with goals, I hope, after serving the suspension that may be applied to me, I will be available, as I have always been until today, to compete and win for our national team. This is, believe me, the purest of truths."
Ronaldo's 146 goals in 234 caps are the most by any male player in international football history, while he is one of only two players to feature in six editions of the World Cup.
However, since the start of 2025, Portugal have won 80% of their matches when Ronaldo has not appeared (P5 W4 D1), compared to just 59% when he has featured (P17 W10 D4 L3), also averaging almost twice as many goals per game without the five-time Ballon d'Or winner (3.4) than with him (1.9).
Jesus has left the door open for a potential return to Portugal's squad, with the defending Nations League champions next in action against Denmark on November 14.
Portugal have already qualified for the next round of the Nations League having taken 12 points from their opening four Group A4 games.

🚨Man Utd prodigy JJ Gabriel🇧🇷 yet to decide future amid interest from Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern & PSG
JJ Gabriel and his family are yet to make a decision on his future but it is increasingly likely his next club will be in Europe.

Real Madrid and Barcelona retain a strong interest, while Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich continue to keep a close eye on his situation.
Gabriel turned 16 on Tuesday, which is the age at which European clubs are allowed to sign him to a professional contract.
Gabriel is eligible to apply for a European passport through his parents.
Sky Sports News reported on Monday evening that United will consider legal action if he moves to a European club.
However, it is understood that this is not a concern to Gabriel and his camp as they consider their next move for the 16-year-old.
Inside JJ Gabriel's future at Man Utd
Gabriel was pictured in United's squad photo for the 2026/27 season on Monday but is still expected to leave Old Trafford.
Sky Sports News understands the picture was taken on September 8, when Gabriel was still at the club and expected to feature for the first team this season.
It was just days later that Gabriel and his family put in a formal request to leave.
Gabriel remains registered with United and Sky Sports News understands multiple attempts have been made to reconcile the situation with the 16-year-old and his family, with duty of care being a factor for such a young player, but no progress has been made.
Gabriel has attracted the interest of Europe's biggest clubs and talks have taken place between his camp and the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with PSG and Bayern Munich also interested in the young attacking talent.
From United's perspective, they feel they have done all they can to show Gabriel and his family a clear pathway to their first team while also protecting his long-term development.
This involves, for example, featuring in the first-team squad photo that was released on Monday - a message he was to be involved in Michael Carrick's plans this season.
Another action they would point to is having Gabriel train with the first team for pre-season while also making his debut against Atletico Madrid in a friendly during that time.
However, Gabriel and his family would point to wanting more than the eight to nine minutes off the bench that he got in that particular game.
Gabriel's involvement in pre-season came after the then 15-year-old failed to report back with the academy squad at the beginning of pre-season as expected.
The U21s arrived back at Carrington a week before the first team, and Gabriel was due back at the same time.
But his family believed it was beneath him and were of the view he should only be involved in first-team training and so pulled him out of reporting back with the U21s.

Sky Sports News also understands Gabriel had an individual development plan led by first-team coaches at the club, including the first-team's medical and performance departments - who all engaged with Gabriel and his family to ensure he was receiving the attention they felt he deserved.
However, despite there being a feeling from inside the club the relationship between them and Gabriel's camp was harmonious, there was a difference of opinion over how much he would feature for the first team at the beginning of the season.
Gabriel and his family requested he feature for at least 20 minutes against Sabah in the Champions League, Brighton in the FA Cup and Bournemouth in the Premier League on October 25. This was all before beginning negotiations around a scholarship contract to secure his future at the club.
Gabriel was ineligible for the first-team tie against Sabah as he was not put in United's A-list. Instead, he played against the Azerbaijani side in the UEFA Youth League that day and scored a hat-trick.
Now that Gabriel has turned 16, he would automatically be added to the club's B-list and would be eligible for matchday squads going forward.
