Nassau Street Cycle Upgrade is Officially Open! The 325-metre contra-flow cycle track between Clare Street and Dawson Street has been upgraded with red asphalt surfacing, cycle signal equipment, cycle friendly gully gratings and protective kerbing. Grateful for a gorgeous day and a great crowd to open Phase 3 of the Royal Canal Greenway, with the Lord Mayor of Dublin Ray McAdam. This scheme provides high-quality walking and cycling facilities along a 2.1km route from North Strand Road to Phibsborough Road. It is part of Dublin’s 314km #ActiveTravelNetwork, funded by the NTA. What a lovely morning to launch the Beatty’s Avenue to Herbert Park Active Travel Scheme, opened by Lord Mayor Councillor Ray McAdam! Providing safe, segregated infrastructure as part of the beautiful Dodder Greenway, making Dublin safer and more accessible for people who are walking, wheeling or cycling. Exciting progress on the Dodder Greenway Beatty’s Avenue to Herbert Park section: Some key milestones have been reached:

✅ New toucan crossing now live on Merrion Rd
✅ Raised tables installed on the northern footpath of Merrion Rd (at Beatty’s Ave & Granite Pl junctions)
✅ Majority of cycle track on Anglesea Rd now paved with red tar
✅ Footpath complete at Anglesea Rd Bridge (connecting to Herbert Park Hotel)

Dublin City Council has installed new Cycle Signals at two island bus stop crossings along the Clontarf to City Centre (C2CC) Active Travel route as part of a six-week trial running from 15th May.

The signals help manage how cyclists, scooter users, and pedestrians move through these spaces, making it safer and clearer for everyone using the crossings. Check out this video to show how these Cycle Signals will work! #C2CC #ActiveTravelNetwork

And it’s a wrap! Dublin Lord Mayor Emma Blain and Deputy Lord Mayor Donna Cooney hosted the final meeting of the Clontarf to City Centre (C2CC) Consultative Forum in the Mansion House yesterday. This forum of volunteers began in 2018 and convened 23 times over the course of the project. Its purpose was to provide a range of perspectives and local insights to ensure the project’s success.
