Born in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, Lorraine Chiponda is the facilitator of the Don’t Gas Africa movement. It works to ensure Africa is not locked into fossil gas production and it works with movements across #Africa in demanding an end to fossil gas and other dirty, #energysystems.

The movement has seen major successes in the last two years in raising awareness of the danger posed by “#fossilfuel-induced energy apartheid in Africa” which has left 600 million Africans without access to modern clean #renewableenergy.

Lorraine advocates for the scaling up of cost-effective, clean, decentralised, renewable energy as the fastest and best way to meet the needs of Africa’s people.
