Daily soul-crushing traffic is not a lifestyle. It is governance failure.

Vast numbers of Lagosians leave home before 5am and get back after their children are asleep. They lose hours of work, money on fuel and fares, time, health and wellbeing they will never get back. That is a cost to every household and every business in this state.

Housing, public transportation and traffic are closely related problems. You cannot fix one without planning for the others. But the first step to fixing them is to acknowledge them.

This government has ignored the pains of Lagosians for years. This is just the latest example. Lagos needs a government that acknowledges problems and uses its resources to solve them, not one that celebrates them.

Inefficiency is not culture, it’s failure
