After 3 years completing a midwifery degree I never thought I'd want to go to university again, but I miss it. There is something so satisfying about learning something new and doing it well. #midwifery

@tracihudson20 @nmcnews I completely sympathise and it isn't the fault of the uni or the hospital, it is purely an unprecedented situation. I really feel for every single one of them. What a horrible time to become a midwife, but they're showing such incredible resilience and are just what we need!

@nmcnews Students are demoralised. They don't have the same support from uni. Everyone they meet in placement is exhausted. Something needs to be done. If it isn't payment incentive then there needs to be something else. Morale is such an important part of completing a midwifery degree

@nmcnews It isn't just frustrating though. It is horrifying being on the front line, going to visit covid positive patients at home, caring for them in labour. We need these st midwives to continue to put themselves at risk for our own needs, we need the staff. We need them to qualify.
