I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US.
Have you ever been called ‘the band 5’ or ‘the student’?
You’re not alone.
This type of labelling happens throughout the NHS and can leave nurses feeling undervalued and demotivated.

@AshJaySa @DrEilidhMaria Surely it depends upon their training. If they have achieved MSc they will be expected to work at a higher banding to reflect their expertise and knowledge. Currently paramedic initial starting salary is band 5 with a BSc
When you send aid to Gaza via a charity, please make sure that the charity gets the money to the people that need it -in most cases, Hamas hijacks and takes the aid for themselves. Always check your charity provider doesn’t support terrorism.
Auschwitz survivor Primo Levi famously wrote: “Monsters exist, but they are too few in number to be truly dangerous. More dangerous are the common men, the functionaries ready to believe and to act without asking questions.”
How relevant are Levi’s words today, as so many, so-called ‘enlightened’ voices in the West, remain silent or seek to minimize, justify or deflect from the monstrous evil perpetrated by Hamas!
@LeanneHPatrick In a week when the PM used the following words to describe nursing “calling” “love” “hand holding””care” it shows how little respect the government has for the profession, & how it will use age old tropes to perpetuate gender stereotypes, weaken professional ID, & control wages
Anyone who calls nursing a calling & lists handholding as the principle job description may needs to spend 24 hours shadowing nurses on the wards or in the community
Today’s march against antisemitism in London is a chance to stand in peace and solidarity with British Jews as they battle spiralling hatred. That such a march is needed in UK in 2023 should be a source of shame and sadness for every decent human being #MarchAgainstAntisemitism
More than 50 000 people marching against antisemitism in London right now!
Strangely, so far no cases of vandalism, hateful slogans nor violent attacks against the police like during the anti-Israel marches in previous weeks…
