🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: In a stunning upset WIN, Democrat Donna Deegan has FLIPPED the mayor's office in Jacksonville Florida!

Deegan shocked Republicans in this longtime GOP stronghold, making her first woman to lead state's largest city.

Turnout ended at 33%, which was higher than primary turnout of just over 25% of registered voters. Democrats finished early voting with over a 4-point lead – leaving the race open for either candidate on Tuesday.

"It’s time we usher in new leadership and positive change that allows all of us to thrive,' said Deegan in a statement made Tuesday afternoon. "I am forever grateful to everyone who has supported me along this journey."

Deegan is used to being in the public eye as a former television news anchor and breast cancer awareness advocate.
