We've been out in the Derwent Catchment surveying for signal crayfish recently. These invasive non-native species can do extensive damage to local ecosystems & threaten countless native species. To find out more info visit: https://t.co/3NONsNsTbY @YISF__INNS@YorksWildlife
I had a fantastic day in the fells learning some new winter skills. Very excited about the next adventure! Thanks Zac & @LakesWeather for a brilliant day!
The @YorksMarineNP work in partnership to deliver environmental, social and economic improvements across the Yorkshire Coast. Today we’re busy working and sharing ideas for the next phase of evolution. There’s lots of good things coming! 🐬☘️🌊 @EnvAgencyYNE
What a Dam! The Derwent hosts a range of #NFM including the most original of them all; #Beavers 🦫 The habitat they create improves biodiversity, traps carbon & regulates water, benefiting flood & drought conditions. Engineering heros! @EnvAgencyYNE@YorksDCP@NaturalEngland
Marine pollution from boat oil & fuel is a big issue in the Esk Estuary, luckily it’s also a key element of the BEACH Esk project! Here’s partners @EnvAgencyYNE and @YorksWildlife engaging with boat owners & the community to help improve water quality in the Esk Estuary.🚤 #CaBA
I’ve been out on the River Seven, with colleagues, providing advice on how we can maintain our flood defences AND add environmental enhancements. #winwin I love collaboration! 🌞 @EnvAgencyYNE@YorksDCP#environment
The River Esk in @yorkshire is proudly home to one of the last Freshwater Pearl Mussels populations in the country 🙌 and we strive to protect them. Partners @YorkshireWater, @northyorkmoors and @freshwaterbio have been out musseling, see link for why...

Our 20/21 Annual Report has now been published. Despite the uncertainty of the past 18 months, we have still managed to deliver some great work thoughout the catchment! Take a look here- https://t.co/PbEleSjeDg @YorksWildlife@EUinmyRegion@YorkshireWater@EnvAgencyYNE
Yorkshire Coasties! We have some amazing wildlife up here, if you're off to enjoy the sea and ice creams this summer be a wildlife champ too. Small actions really help our critters 🦭🐳🦞🐦🐬. Check out #OpSeabird for tips. @YorksMarineNP@EnvAgencyYNE
Our Partnership Officer, Kate, has been carrying out sediment walkover surveys this winter. This work, part of @EnvAgencyYNE 's Doing More for the Derwent Project, will help identify any interventions that would reduce sediment input in the watercourse!
This week @northyorkmoors have planted 500 trees in Danby Dale as part of the #WEG Esk Restoration Project. The trees will help reduce sediment & runoff from the land, improving water quality AND will create new woodland habitat. 🌳👍 @EnvAgencyYNE
Do you like Great Crested Newts?! 🦎 do you like ponds and are you in north #yorkshire? If yes, would you like @YorksWildlife to install #GCN pond habitat in your park, garden or land for FREE?? If you’re interested please pm new for more details. @NewtPartnership
