Overall, it's clear that general practice is continuing to deliver under extreme pressure. Naming and shaming practices based on this new data is unlikely to be helpful.
My morning clinic today had 3 patients who didn't turn up. No explanations given. I tried to call all 3 and none answered. This is a daily occurrence.
If the appointment is so coveted, why not turn up?
I'm completely exhausted with the GP bashing in this country. It's not as simple as being a little demotivated, it's contributing to a mass exodus of GPs to other sectors/specialities/countries.
If GPs aren't seeing anyone, then what am I doing all day, every day??
@EmilyThornberry@healthyopinion Are we missing the fact that you filled an econsult, and then got an appointment in the first instance? So it's not actually hard to get one, you got one. Rescheduling and contacting the practice is another matter.
GPs - Facts or fiction 🧵
They are not seeing patients F2F
Why are waiting rooms are empty
They are not working
AEs are full because GPs aren’t seeing patients
They shut their doors during the pandemic
They are all part-time
They are paid too much
They no longer care

I've received offers to study an MBA at two really great institutions and I'm looking for support with funding. Does anyone know of any organisations that will pay for an MBA in place of a salary? Or any scholarship opportunities for UK citizens studying a US programme? DM if so!

A quick story. I’m on ambulatory medicine at the VA. Yesterday I went to get a patient from the waiting room. A Black man who served in Vietnam. When I introduced myself as Dr. Igwe, he gave me a very strange look. I asked if I had the wrong person, but he said “no, that’s me”.
Omicron latest: Looks more transmissible than delta. Likely to become dominant strain. Can re-infect those who had delta recently. Can infect fully vaccinated. Unsure if vaccines protect against severe infection but likely. Priority: vaccinate & slow impact on NHS over winter.
